I am of the Christian tradition, not totally comfortable with creeds. I especially like choral and classical music, but enjoy other types too. I like to be outdoors, also enjoy theater and volunteer work. I am drawn to silence and contemplative practices, but I also have a strong sense of humor.
My Ideal Person
Someone who is educated, open and seeking, more closely connected with "love God and neighbor" than "follow all the rules." Someone who is okay with the fact that God does not necessarily equal He. Kindness, sense of humor, comfortableness with self and others are very important to me. God is Spirit, a mystery, ultimately present and loving. If you think so too I'd like to talk with you.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I am of the Christian tradition, still a seeker. I have studied theology and spiritual practices. I come away thinking that any way I can connect with the Spirit is the right way. I am a Micah Christian, I think: What does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? I have trouble with creeds and can’t quite say them with full honesty. I don’t understand the details of The Resurrection, but I believe in resurrection and the transforming power of Light and Love (God.)
I grew up Episcopalian, I spent a number of years in the Presbyterian Church as an amateur choir director, and now am in the Methodist Church. Basically Protestant, I guess.
I have been in a Presbyterian contemplative prayer group (not an oxymoron any more), the heart of which was small group spiritual sharing. I don’t have that kind of group right now and I miss it. I am learning to be a spiritual director/companion, through OASIS ministries in Camp Hill Pennsylvania.
The spiritual journey matters to me in an essential way. Even when I wander around it is at the center of who I am.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Ps. 139:9-10 If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there thy hand shall lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
Ps. 46:4-5 There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her and that right early.
John 1:5. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
