Profile for DesertFlower26
Hi - I'm a "transplanted" Midwesterner. Are you my Oasis in the Sonoran Desert? // Well, hello! My friends say I'm intelligent and fun to be around. Like to read, swim, listen to music. I also sing and play the piano and a little guitar (emphasis on "little"). Love candlelight dinners, time with a partner in the woods or mountains - watching sunsets and appreciating God's grandeur. Day trips - long drives - short drives - just as long as I have my camera handy. ;-) I like movies (more fun watching at home than in the theater, though); dinners out, ordering pizza in, holding hands, going for drives to see new things. LOVE sports - baseball is life - except when it's college basketball season, and then basketball is life. And I'd love to take up golf and horseback riding again. God is #1 in my life - I hope He is in yours, too!

My Ideal Person
I am looking for a one-woman man who is honest, faithful and has the ability to share himself openly with me - and, if we are right together, will be able to make a life-long commitment. I want someone who knows how to laugh and have fun - I'm a sucker for a great smile and sense of humor. I'm hoping to find someone who can appreciate me for being ME. Most of all, I am looking for a stand-up Christian man who can help me in my walk with the Lord.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I attend a non-denominational Christian church whose services and philosophy are based solely on the Bible. My faith in Jesus - He died for our sins and is our way into heaven - is paramount in my life.

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Jeremiah 29:11-13 - God has a plan for us to prosper and not to perish. The one about the lilies of the field - I can't remember the book it's in, but the verse is "Behold the lilies of the field. They neither toil nor spin, yet Solomon in all his glory was never arrayed as one of these." I get such comfort from this verse - God will take care of us!

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
It's not easy being a Christian, and I would like someone who is also taking the walk with the Lord to walk with me. Also, I think it's very important to a relationship that both parties have the same belief system.

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have traveled now to about 2/3 of the states (one of these days I'll have to count), Canada, several places in Mexico, Germany, Austria, and many Caribbean islands. Jamaica and Saba are the two places I'd like to return to first, then Germany to visit relatives. Primary on my list of places I haven't yet visited are The Netherlands (to see friends there), Greece, most of Europe, Tahiti and Bali - I could spend the rest of my life traveling, I think!

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I really enjoy my bible study group on Monday nights and my church's Christianity Class on Wednesday nights (I am a facilitator at that class). I would like to get more involved in ministry, but haven't figured out just where my niche is. I love meeting friends for lunch or dinner, going to museums, going for drives to see new things, and flying back "home" occasionally to catch up with friends and family there.

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
I don't really have one. I usually spend part of each day trying to get more organized (!), try to spend some time in the sun, do a little "work" on my home business, read, talk to friends online or on the phone, run errands - pretty normal, boring stuff.

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
My number one personal goal right now is to get through a hip replacement operation which is coming up in about a month. After that I should be able to get back into many activities that are too painful for me now. Can't wait! Spiritually, I just hope to continue to grow in my faith, and to get more comfortable talking to non-believers about it.
