My Ideal Person
I am looking for a friend that I can grow close to and have a long term close relationship with. With this friend I would like to share my interests and learn about them and their interests. I don't rule out marriage but it is not on my "must do" list.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I went to Lutheran day school for elementary school and then went on to a public high school. I fell away from formal religion at that point but rejoined about ten years ago. My faith is central to my daily life but it is a very private faith and I don't openly talk about it very often.

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
I like the one that talks about lilies and how they do not worry because God takes care of them. Likewise, we should not worry because God takes care of us. I have experienced God's care for me in my life.

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
I have heard a lot of horror stories about the online dating websites. I am reluctant to venture into that arena. It seems to me that I would meet someone I can be close to if we had basic religious beliefs in common.

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I am a fifth generation Detroiter and am the oldest of four children. I grew up a "Ford brat", so we lived abroad for several years. I loved living in Germany and Switzerland when I was in high school and in college. My travel in the United States has focused on Florida and Arizona primarily. Several years ago I had the opportunity to travel to Isrealon business. It was a majic trip that was very spiritual. My favorite place to be is on the water. It is so relaxing and refreshing. I love to sail, race, swim, tube, ski, float, raft and look at water!

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
At church I serve on the Personnel Committee. I am skilled at dealing with staffing issues so this seems to be a good fit for me. At times I have taught Sunday school and served as an Elder. I like learning new things. I will watch PBS or the Discovery Channel on tv. I like to listen to NPR or books on tape when I am driving. I love rock and roll and country music.

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
I take care of God's choosen people everyday. I am a manager at a Jewish organization that cares for the poor and needy. I feel it is an honor to do this work. I also teach an occasional health management class in the evenings at a local university. It is very challenging to work with college students who want to learn everything as fast as they can.

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I am working on a list of the top ten things I want to do in the next ten years. My top one is to bike down a mountain in Hawaii very early in the morning. I am still refining the next nine! One will definately be to develop a deep friendship with a significant other.
