82 year old Woman in Pueblo, Colorado, United States Looking For: Men

Profile for 4711
Have not dated in 35 years since my divorce in 1971. God is my main focus. // Raised my four alone, worked a full time job to support them, since my husband didn't, and worked on getting my RN degree all at the same time. I have always been a busy person but at 63 that's getting old. I am now finishing up my mass/comm degree at CSU-Pueblo, CO, and graduating come May. I have been in the CSU concert choir since I attended CSU and our concert choir is getting ready to visit Europe for some singing engagements at Salzburg, Vienna and Praege-with my who is a bass and I am a 1st soprano. Great way to end my college education at CSU. I am on disability which is why I have gone back to school. Hospitals will no longer hire me since I have had too many back and knee surgeries. I wanted a career that I could do from home and possibly get off from disability. I love to travel and write and read, mostly Godly material and history. I love to help people and I am searching for God's plan in my life to help others.

My Ideal Person
I have thought about re-marriage but I have not been too quick to date. I guess that's obvious. I have had a hurtful life and I'm leary of being hurt again. Jesus is and always will be #1 because He's always been there for me when I needed Him and no one else in my life can say that. I have one son here in Pueblo and three children in Michigan where I was born and raised my children most of the time. We moved from Michigan in 1980 to Texas and 1987 moved to California and 1993 to Colorado. I love to be near God's nature and I am not too thrilled about the ungodly society we life in these days. I am a fighter for Godlly morals and that's importan to me. I believe we need to return to the Godly country we were when God assisted us in establishing this great country. God bless you!

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
My faith is the most important to me because it is what our life is all about or should be. We were all born with strengths and weaknesses. And, our challenge in life is to overcome our weaknesses with the strength of God. I have come through many difficulties and I could never have made it without God. Even as a Catholic I was not that much aquainted with the love of God but I had enough sense to cling to God and He would get me through it all somehow. I don't know how anyone makes it without faith in God. With my first disability in 1986 in Galveston, Texas-watching the Christian Broadcasting Station, known as CBN, I start watching the 700 Club with Pat Robertson and I finally began to realize that my God isn't up there to bat me down every time I sin or make a mistake, He's really for me and He really loves me. Now, there's nothing or no one more important to me than my God and my relationship with Jesus. Yes I love my fellow man, but it is through the love of Jesus that I can love my fellow man, even with much difficulty, my enemies. But,this I can do too with the help of God--my FAITH IN GOD!!!

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil.4:13 If you really fulfill the royal law according to scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." you do well. James 2:8 Psalm 91 and Psalm 23 I memorized and say daily or sometimes several times a day. Psalms and Proverbs are very educational and wise, but the book of Job is my favorite book in the Old Testament because despite all the horrible things he went through, he remained loyal to God and he didn't even have a Bible to read for wisdom and strenght as we do.

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
I would only want to carry a close relationship that would assist me in my relationship with God. I would not want to jeapardize that. As Jesus said, if you follow two commandments, all the rest will take care of themselves. "Love God with your whole heart, your whole mind and your whole spirit" and "Love you neightbor as yourself". In the love of God/Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit, you would love each other in a perfect love.

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in Michigan. Moved to Texas. Moved to California and finally moved to Colorado. Took a travel nurse assignment once to North Carolina. Visited all over Michigan,Makinaw Island and much more, Canada-Niagra Falls. I went on a tour with a few of my kids to Greece, Israel, Turkey, Patmos Island--basically a tour of the Holyland according to the travels of Paul. Also, the Bahama Islands. I will be going to Salzburg, Vienna Germany and Prauge in May with the Concert choir of CSU-Pueblo, Colorado.

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
Normally, I would say singing in the choir. I tried that twice while I was at the university and I found out that I was putting too much on my plate. So, that may come again after graduation. I also like the weekly get together and pot-luck dinners at church, again when I have time for that.

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
Classes at the university, math lab, work-study in Cataloging-6th floor-CSU Library. And, of course homework, stories for the university paper. I leave early and get home around dinner time, except this semester I have math class on Mon. and Wed. night. I hate night classes. They really wear me down in a full schedule. I look forward to graduation in May and cleaning and organizing my house real good.

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
Living and writing for the Lord, along with photography. Getting published. The ex-Dean of the Library liked my poetry so much he hooked me up with his publisher. One thing I want to elaborate on was my three year excursion living on top of our mountain property for three years with no running water, no utilities or transportation in the wilderness. It was the best three years of my entire life and I never felt closer to God in my life. What I found there in my relationship to God-I never found in any church and probably never will. I loved living in the middle of the wilderness-God's creation. I truly found God!!!!! And, I hope to live like that again some day-a cabin in the wilderness, surrounded by mountains, no utilities-we do have water-wood burning stove, solar and windmill--my dreamhouse.
