I am young in spirit, always mistaken for a great deal younger, and am as comfortable changing a blown tire on a trailer on the side of an interstate as I am getting all dressed up for a fancy event. I was once a professional singer (I started originally with one of the very first Jesus rock bands) & eventually I traveled with my own secular band doing shows & dance music in hotels and clubs. I am now a "chick-singer" living in disguise as a suburban mom! During show season, I drive my (with whom I am very close) to APHA shows where she competes on a regional/national level. I drive a big dooley pick-up truck (license plate STABLMOM) & used to pull a 38' foot trailer (although due to our changed circumstances, we've needed to down-size). I really LOVE to laugh & tend to find humor even in the most exasperating situations. My view of life, & all of its ups & downs, is filtered through my belief that God is in control & that whatever happens, it will be what is right for me, even if I don't always understand it. But I also believe in recognizing that a situation -ôis what it is"...& you just need to suck it up & deal with it the best you can. I was married for more than 25 years (he left 2 years ago) so starting to date again after almost 30 yrs. is a little intimidating. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it as I'm OK on my own, but I do miss the companionship of a good relationship -à talking about everything, laughing wildly over dinner & wine, finding happiness in things as simple as listening to the crickets & frogs singing at night...or dressing up for a big night out. I look forward to learning & experiencing new things, and also hopefully continuing to grow towards becoming the person God created me to be. It would be nice to have a fellow traveler on the journey!
Mi persona ideal:
I'd love to meet someone with a great sense of humor, a caring, accepting personality & a "glass-half-full/God is in control" view of life. However, I don't want to be with someone who feels the need to totally change me. It's been tried ... and it didn't go so well! God made each of us in a unique way, and I'd like to be in a relationship where we treasure and nuture that in each other.
