Living out adventures in God's world is my personal motto. Take a chance in getting to know me! // I'm a loving, compassionate, hard-working, creative, fun-loving woman always looking to make new friends. I teach high school Spanish, paint, garden, and indulge myself in ballroom dancing. I am a follower of Jesus and serve wherever I can in my church.
Teaching high school is my second career, for I am a retired Lieutenant Commander, U.S.Navy (20 years service). I have lived in many different places, but take each day with the special blessings that it brings.
I'm in good physical shape and my hobbies, among other things, help to keep me active. As a high school teacher, my students always keep me on my toes, and even with the structure of daily lessons, I'm always meeting new students and trying new activities. For the rest of my thoughts, it would be wonderful to share those in person soon.
Mi persona ideal:
I'm looking for an adventurous man around my age. Having some height would be good because I'm a tall woman. Although it's not a hard fast requirement, it would be great to share one or two of my interests with him. Since I am fluent in Spanish and have lived within the hispanic culture, I would welcome one of hispanic origin. Most importantly, I'm looking for a man who loves Jesus and lives an authentic life before all those with whom he comes into contact. No, he won't be perfect, but he'll be working at becoming a man after God's own heart, sensitive to His leading. May he have a certain amount of patience and compassion as well. I want to share with him what God has given me, and hope that he will do the same in my direction.

Por favor describe tu fe. ¿Qué tan importante es tu fe para ti?
My faith is the most important thing in my life. I don't even look at it as a thing, but the person of Jesus. I want to get to know Him as a friend. I try to open up every area of my life to Him, though that's a daily struggle. He has taught me patience and compassion and how to be an original.
¿Qué versículos de las escrituras son más importantes para ti?
Colossians 3:23- But whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not unto men.
Psalm 103- all of it
Psalm 30:11- You have changed my sadness into a joyful dance.
Isaiah 53- all of it
¿Por qué es una relación cristiana importante para ti?
Because I want to be obedient to God's Word and not be unequally yoked from the start.
¿Dónde creciste? ¿Dónde has viajado? ¿Cuáles son algunos de tus lugares favoritos para visitar?
I was born in California, raised in Ohio, lived and traveled to Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Iceland, Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Spain, and most of the U.S.
I really like Spain, especially the southern region. I also like being near the water.
¿Cuáles son tus actividades favoritas tanto en la iglesia como fuera de ella?
I enjoy Vacation Bible School, being a tour guide for our Judgement House every October (an helping prepare sets), and going on short mission trips when I can.
I am an avid gardener, and I love to paint and draw (my home is filled with family art work - mine, my dad's, and my son's), and I have a passion for ballroom dancing (also helps keep me active and in shape). All of these things nuture my creative bent.
¿Cómo es un día para ti? Describe tu rutina diaria.
During the summer, I sleep later than usual because I'm off from school (unless I'm teaching Vacation Bible School). But when school's in session, I'm up at 4:30am because I like my devotional time first thing in the morning. I have to be a school by 7 am and my first class begins at 7:10am. Lunch is only half an hour in the middle of the day and if there are no after school meetings or activities, I'm home around 3:30 to 4 pm. I take a little siesta sometimes, have dinner, turn on the TV and grade papers. My son lives in a group home most of the time, so when he's home, I'm talking to him and reading with him.
¿Cuáles son tus objetivos personales y espirituales?
I want to find more Christian students and teachers at school to fellowship with, just started teaching a second grade Sunday school class - grow through that experience, and to continue to learn contentment in whatever stage in life I'm experiencing.
Professionally, I want to study overseas one summer to improve my own language skills. Not sure of other goals at this time.
