Job 14:1 3/10/2010
Job 14:1 Man . . . is of few days, and full of trouble. It may be of great service to us, before we fall asleep, to
remember this mournful fact, for it may lead us to set loose
by earthly things. There is nothing very pleasant in the
recollection that we are not above the shafts of adversity,
but it may humble us and prevent our boasting like the Psalmist
in our morning's portion. "My mountain ...

46 still single 3/10/2010
Its taken me many many years to start to understand why I
never had the right woman come along. Now that I've
started understanding somethings about myself I see some
possible changes for myself as well as other things I need
to do to prepare myself for that special lady. I suffered from depression for so long I never understood
this was part of my problem. I realize I'm not strong
enough yet ...

Genesis 35:18 3/9/2010
Genesis 35:18 She called his name Ben-oni ( of sorrow), but his father
called him Benjamin ( of my right hand). To every matter there is a bright as well as a dark side. Rachel
was overwhelmed with the sorrow of her own travail and death;
Jacob, though weeping the mother's loss, could see
the mercy of the 's birth. It is well for us if,
while the flesh mourns over trials, our faith triumphs
in ...

Proverbs 18:12 3/7/2010
Proverbs 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty. It is an old and common saying, that "coming events
cast their shadows before them;" the wise man teaches
us that a haughty heart is the prophetic prelude of evil.
Pride is as safely the sign of destruction as the change
of mercury in the weather-glass is the sign of rain; and
far more infallibly so than that. When men have ridden ...

Praying with Integrity 3/7/2010
Praying with Personal Integrity One of the greatest tools God gave us was the tool that the
Apostle Paul used so widely. Prayers from a heart and life
of integrity can touch the whole world. Paul lived in integrity. As he faced prison for his testimony
he declared in Acts 24:16 "This being so, I myself
always strive to have a conscience without offense toward
God and men." This statement Paul ...

and justice. Verses for Today: Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed . . . year

Becoming a Woman of Dignity 3/5/2010
Becoming a Woman of Dignity Glynnis Whitwer
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can
laugh at the days to come." Proverbs 31:25 (NIV) Devotion: How could I have done it? How could I have gotten into an argument
with my pre- that reduced me to the level of:
"Did not!" "Did too!" It was that
bad. I walked away knowing I needed a time out. Wasn't I supposed

The Ten Commandments 3/3/2010
The Ten Commandments are the foundation of the moral laws
for all mankind, they are the one portion of our Bible written
by the finger of God (Ex. 31:1. Verse for Today: The Lord our God is one Lord (Deut. 6:4). The Hebrew word translated our God is Elohenu, meaning
"our Gods." This, then, is what Moses said:
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God(s) is one Lord (6:4). The
word one ('echad) expresses ...

The Wrath To Come 3/1/2010
Matthew 3 The wrath to come. It is pleasant to pass over a country after a storm has spent
itself; to smell the freshness of the herbs after the rain
has passed away, and to note the drops while they glisten
like purest diamonds in the sunlight. That is the position
of a Christian. He is going through a land where the storm
has spent itself upon His Saviour's head, and if there
be a few drops ...

Prophecies of Balaam; Israel sins; Baal worship; the plague
of death stopped by Phinehas. Verses for Today: Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit

people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people
did eat, and bowed down to their gods. And Israel joined
himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled ...

Logos 2/23/2010
Plumbing the Depths of His Person When we consider Jesus as the second person of the Trinity,
the eternal Logos who became incarnate, we note instantly
that in any attempt to plumb the depths of His person we are
stepping into the deep waters of the nature of God Himself.
In Hebrews 1:3, the author describes Christ as "the
brightness of His glory and the express image of His person."

Messiah 2/23/2010
Most of us are so familiar with the title "Christ"
that we tend to consider it part of Jesus' personal
name. But what exactly does it mean? Like "Messiah, "
"Christ" means the "anointed one."
The phrase "anointed one" refers to someone
who has been set apart for a special mission. That was how the first Christians thought about Jesus.
As Israel's Messiah, he was the greatest of all kings,
the one ...

The King 2/9/2010
The world has never seen a king like Christ, a ruler mightier
than any earthly sovereign and more powerful than the unseen
powers of the universe. Though he entered the world humbly,
as an infant born in Bethlehem, Magi from the east still
recognized him as the newborn king. Though his reign unfolds
in hidden ways, he has promised to come again, at which time
he will reveal himself unambiguously ...

Your refuge from the avenger of blood 2/4/2010
Joshua 20:3 Your refuge from the avenger of blood. It is said that in the land of Canaan, cities of refuge were
so arranged, that any man might reach one of them within
half a day at the utmost. Even so the word of our salvation
is near to us; Jesus is a present Saviour, and the way to Him
is short; it is but a simple renunciation of our own merit,
and a laying hold of Jesus, to be our all in ...

Isaiah 55:8-9 2/4/2010
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways
My ways", declares the LORD. "For as the heavens
are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your
ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah
55:8-9) Faith relies on the person of God and trusts that His ways
are right! Faith reads God's word and says, "This is what
God says." But so often our minds jump in and say, "God
may ...

Proverbs 14:11-12 2/4/2010
The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of
the upright will flourish. There is a way which seems right
to a man, but its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:11-12)
We must submit our reason to the One who sees the end from
the beginning! That's one of our big problemswe can't see "the
end." We can't see where the roads we take, the
choices we make, the values we adopt will lead ...

Results of Resisting the Devil
The Five Key Truths of Spiritual Warfare There are five key passages on spiritual warfare, and each
of them has a very specific message for us to apply. As we
turn to each one and read the verses, note the lesson and
apply it, by the power of God's Spirit, in your life.

"Walk" by Watchman Nee 2/1/2010
Walk
WE HAVE sought to make it clear that Christian experience
does not begin with walking, but with sitting. Every time
we reverse the divine order, the result is disaster. The
Lord Jesus has done everything for us, and our need now is
to rest confidently in Him. He is seated on the throne, so
we are carried through in His strength. It cannot be too
strongly emphasized that all true ...

Luke 2:20 1/28/2010
Luke 2:20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God
for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was
told unto them. What was the subject of their praise? They praised God for
what they had heard-for the good tidings of great joy that
a Saviour was born unto them. Let us copy them; let us also
raise a song of thanksgiving that we have heard of Jesus
and His salvation. They ...

Satan Wants YOU to Doubt God's Word
Satan Doesn't Want You To Listen To God's Word
Today
Satan is in an all out attack to make you and me doubt, reject
and become deafened to the voice of Jesus. We are not listening
to the voice of Jesus when we think wrongly about God! Will
you listen to that voice? Adam and Eve chose to not listen
to God. Instead of following God obediently ...

Lot and Choices 1/25/2010
It came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain,
that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst
of the overthrow (Gen. 19:29). As long as Lot followed Abraham, God wonderfully prospered
him. But, Lot had lots of trouble after leaving his spiritual
counselor Abraham. When he left Abraham, he pitched his
tent toward Sodom (13:12), whose people were wicked and
sinners before ...

Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea,
we establish the law. When the believer is adopted into the Lord's family,
his relationship to old Adam and the law ceases at once;
but then he is under a new rule, and a new covenant. Believer,
you are God's ; it is your first duty to obey your
heavenly Father. A servile spirit you have nothing to do
with: you are not a ...

Psalm 91:3 1/25/2010
Psalm 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler.
God delivers His people from the snare of the fowler in two
senses. From, and out of. First, He delivers them from the
snare-does not let them enter it; and secondly, if they
should be caught therein, He delivers them out of it. The
first promise is the most precious to some; the second is
the best to others. "He shall deliver ...

Consider it all joy! 1/22/2010
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various
trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces
endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result,
so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
(James 1:2-4) What is the outcome in my life? God's voice doesn't always come to us the way we
want it; sometimes He teaches us our greatest lessons through

Psalm 119:37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken
Thou me in Thy way. There are divers kinds of vanity. The cap and bells of the
fool, the mirth of the world, the dance, the lyre, and the
cup of the dissolute, all these men know to be vanities;
they wear upon their forefront their proper name and title.
Far more treacherous are those equally vain things, the
cares of this world ...

Luke 24:45 1/19/2010
Luke 24:45 Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand
the Scriptures. He whom we viewed last evening as opening Scripture, we
here perceive opening the understanding. In the first
work He has many fellow-labourers, but in the second He
stands alone; many can bring the Scriptures to the mind,
but the Lord alone can prepare the mind to receive the Scriptures.
