A lot of my students will not be able to function in the real world when they become adults, because they do not know how to take responibilty for their actions. Their parents are not teaching them how to. They are being taught by their parents to blame everybody else as to why they act the way they do. I see that when I talk to them about their . The behavior is very bad. My principal doesn't want them suspened or sent to AEP if they have earened it. She wants them at school because of TAKS-the state test. The bad behavior is making it difficult to teach.

Today was the first day of school. I Grade level Chair person for the fourth grade at my school. First year for this and I am excited about it. I have three sections of students. There were a few who didnt' show up. Not all show up on the first day of school. I decided to take a picture of each section for my scrapbook that I make every year. My middle group, just seemed to give me a hard time trying to get into a group that looked right for the pic. I had two who just couldn't cooperate very well, and I didn't allwo them to be in the goup. I read this cute book, called "First Day Jitters". All in all, didn't go too badly.

I left Thursday for TX and spent the night in AR like I usually do. (I drove 12 hours that day from OH). Yesterday(Friday) morning I driving in AR and all of a sudden my car started to shake. I pulled over and didn't see anything wrong with my car. My ABS light did come on. Later in the afternoon, while i stopped to pick up my friend in Garden Valley, my car started to shake again. I pulled over and this time, my back tire was shredded. There is more damage. I do not know what I hit or ran over or what. I was towed about 80 miles from Canton to Dallas. this morning, I waited almost 2 hours for the tow truck to show up at my place to tow me to the repair place and so I could get a rental car. By the time I left there, they were getting ready to close for the day. The Lord knows what he is doing.

Why are they so rude?

Why do have to be so rude? We had our annual talent show this afternoon. Most groups, looked like they hadn't really practiced. One group, were my , and they were good and looked like they had practiced. Besides that, the just sat in the audience talking. How can anybody enjoy something, when it is difficult to pay attention, when there is so much noise around you? They were told, I do not know how many times, to quiet down. The students at the school I teach at, do not think they have to ever follow a simple direction. I just needed to vent. I have been dealing with this type of behavior for too long. Consequences do not seem to be working. 4 more school days!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Went to the Rangers game last night to cheer on my Cleveland Indians who were in town. My guys won! It was a great game. We came out blazing in the first inning, then was basically silent the rest of the game. After the first inning, the score was 7-0. We can the Rangers starting pitcher away in the first inning. The Rangers slowly started to chip away at the score. Cliff Lee was sent packing in the 6th. Actually, Cleveland used 3 pitchers in the 6th inning. Wickman came out and closed the game with a save. Final score was 8-6. I yelled, cheered and chanted for the good guys. I drove people nuts around me. The Rangers gave away a free cap to the first 25,000 people. I wore the Rangers cap and my Indians t-shirt.

I just need to vent. I had my homeroom all day. For the past three days we did ITBS tests. My group was their best on Tuesday. They were super rude yesterday. I have a couple of whiners, they whine about everything. They are constantly retailating bacck and forth. They have to get even, though I have preached about that about a thousand times. We had a retirement celebration for our head custodian this afternoon, they were rude during that. I fussed at them about not caring about their eduacation. I took them to the restroom at 1 pm. After the program, about 2:20, or so, they had to go again. It would be nice to have a group of that actually cared and tried their best. I feel better now that I have vented. Now, I can go and do my lesson plans for next week.

This week is TAKS week. Yesterday my students () took the math test. They are divided up into two rooms. One group wanted to pray. They started praying like let us pass the test. I went that is not how you pray. They told me to lead the prayer. (they see me pray silently every day during moment of silence.) So, I prayed. This morning, somebody asked if he could pray before the test, and we allowed him to.

Have you left your comfort zone?

Today was part 3 in a five part sermon series on being "World Changers". Today was about Phillip from Acts 8. God called Phillip to leave his comfort zone of Samaria to go out into the desert. Because Phillip obeyed God, Africa was opened up to the Gospel. He was there when the Ethopian needed somebody to share what the scriptures were saying. Because of Phillip, the Ethopian accepted Christ, was baptized, went home to share with others what Christ had done for them. What is your comfort zone? Has Jesus been speaking to you to step out of your comfort zone for him? Just do it and obey, you never know how this act of obedience will be used in spreading the Gospel. What is my comfort zone? I left mine, over six in half years ago, to come to TX. I came down for a job, and have no family down here. Maybe I have entered a comfort zone. I teach in a public school, so I could be out of comfort zone. I have asked myself about this since the sermon a couple of times? Is the Lord asking me to take a risk and do something different for him?

My singles group at church have a softball team. I try to go and cheer them on. Last night they had a doubleheader. It was an awesome evening! The first game was a blowout 19-3. (They are usually on the recieving end of those type of games.) The second game they came from behind twice and the final score was 16-15. They won both games. I cheered and yelled for them. Their record is now 3-4, tied last year's record.
