a friend sent this......
guys can be counted too...this womens' lib stuff is vile.
I'm modifying it.....
Time passes. Life happens. Distance separates. grow up. Jobs come and go. Love waxes and wanes. Men/women don't do what they're supposed to do. Hearts break. Parents die. Colleagues forget favors. Careers end. BUT......... Sisters/brothers are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you a girl/boy friend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women/men in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you...Or come in and carry you out. Girl/by friends, daughters/sons, granddaughters/sons, daughters/sons-in- law, sisters/brothers, sisters/brothers-in-law, Mothers/fathers, grandmothers/fathers, aunties/uncles, nieces/nephews, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life! The world wouldn't be the same without them, and neither would I. When we began this adventure, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still. Pass this on to all the women/men who help make your life meaningful. I just did. (((HUGS)))

things are more in perspective these days.
...must be God's way!
[ PSALM 55:16-17 ]
I call to God and God saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice.

answer me when I call to You, O my righteous God. Give me relief from distress; be merciful to me and hear me.
Two full weeks away from my second job now and the financial pinch is acute. But my God is full of mercy and compassion and He will provide what we need.....Harry is withdrawn and sad but this too shall pass and God will show us the way.

'S VIEWS ON ANGELS
"It's not easy to become an angel! First, you die. Then you go to heaven, then there's still the flight training to go through. And then you got to agree to wear those angel clothes." --Matthew, 9

"Everybody's got it all wrong. Angels don't wear halos anymore. I forget why, but scientists know all about it now." --Olive, 9
"Angels work for God and watch over when God has to go do something else." --Mitchell, 7
"My guardian angel helps me with math, but he's not much good for science." --Henry, 8
"Angels don't eat, but they drink milk from holy cows." --Scooter , 6
"Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The basic message is where you went wrong before you got dead." --Daniel, 7

respecting elders

Leviticus 19:32 'Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD. People often find it easy to dismiss the opinions of the elderly and avoid taking time to visit with them. But the fact that God commanded the Israelites to show respect for the elderly shows how seriously we should take the responsibility of respecting those older than we are. Their wisdom gained from experience can save us from many pitfalls. How do you show respect and honor to your elders ? Father help us to love the elderly. To talk to them and listen to them when they talk to us. Father, some older people seem so alone in nursing homes, hospitals, and palliative care units. Help us to step out of our comfort zone, get out there and visit with those whom you love. Help us to show respect to our elders daily. In Jesus' Name, Amen

had a huge cry last evening........
at developmentally challenged youth basketball last evening [H mentors his brother's team ds [17 with autism], I totally lost it.
picture this.........a hugely successful weekly program.....my 'in care' 17 year old has learned to play as a team player... ...I've personally driven both boys twice weekly [often 200 km return when away games] for 3 years. This past August 2007 I persuaded the group home staff to take him thursdays but I have to remind them and encourage them. [Mcdonalds is not an acceptable substitute...grrrrrr]
1 and 2 Dec was our twice yearly tournament... ds was selected for the finals this past weekend but nobody phoned me.... at practise they just thought he was sick....... and when we didn't show up at the university of BC finals. [right after wheelchair basketball WI versus BC.] [ds was totally choked and thrilled at it last year]. As I arrived last night another mom asked where we were? missing the big game?........... I totally couldn't stop crying... after ++++++ apologies from the coach I felt better... Thankfully ds is blissfully unaware and both boys were amazingly nicer to me last night..
