praising Jesus

I'm a prayerful working mom [small rehab practise] and full time parent for my 3 teens.......I live to laugh!

God's help is always there but a person has to take the first step!"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." ~ Benjamin Franklin

big step for me and maybe something that will help you keep me/us in your prayers.......I have shared that many of the staff at my older boys group home are either unskilled/afraid of him/just putting in the minimum required of their job........that may or may not be the case but I cannot change that......previously I attempted asking for help with J but the staff had their own, very different agenda.

part of the reason I get so overwhelmed is because I don't delegate well......well, it's time my has a volunteer position/job. he's 17.5. The group home leisure activities are restaurants, movies, walks and tv.

For one year now I've brought this up......if you'll excuse the expression on deaf ears.....all the residents are deaf and 2 of the staff......all the staff quit recently....4 before Christmas and 2 in the summer so now I can turn over a new leaf.......delegating......[very diplomatically because I am just a parent]......don't even get me started on politics of government employees....Trust me, I am constantly working on my christian attitude! I've attempted today to get staff to take J to a big pet store where he might get a volunteer position feeding animals......[another option is 2 hours filling shelves at another situation]

Twenty Tips For Better Living In 2008

1. Rise and pray every day: "Again today, dear God, I commit and trust
my life and way to you. I'm available. Please use me to be as Jesus to
every life I touch."
2. Don't sweat the small stuff.
3. Remember these simple sentences: "I was wrong." "I am sorry."
"Please forgive me." "Thank you." Say them whenever needed and say "I
love you" often--whether needed or not.
4. Come apart and rest a while before you come apart. Stress is a killer.
5. Remember, "Nothing changes if nothing changes."
6. Don't nurse grudges: "Failing to forgive is like drinking poison
and waiting for the other person to die."
7. Carpe diem. Seize the day. Opportunities will pass... not pause.
8. Quit the blame-game. It's choice, not chance, determine / choose
your destiny.
9. Control your thinking or your thinking will control you. "What the
mind dwells on the body acts on."
10. Invest your life in a worthwhile cause by having a noble purpose
for which to live--one that is bigger than yourself. One that will
help make your world a better place in which to live.
11. Be a positive realist. You will always see what you are looking
for: "Two men look out the same prison bars. One seeks mud, the other
stars."
12. The greatest abilities are availability, dependability and
responsibility"
13. "There is no pillow as soft as a clear conscience."
14. "Smooth seas never make skillful sailors."
15. When God is silent. "I believe in the sun even when it isn't
shining. I believe in love even when I am alone. I believe in God even
when he is silent."
16. Cry when needed. "Every unshed tear is a prism through which all
of life's experiences are distorted."
17. Laugh a lot. It is still the best medicine.
18. Remember, "The bumps are what we climb on."
19. Fear not. At least 95 percent of the things we fear never happen.
Trust God for the other five percent.
20. Have faith and put God first with your time, talents and tithe.

"For i am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing shalll be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38 -39)

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

Each and everyone one of us are going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.

This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive.
There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another.

The prayer:

Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those that I care deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs. Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings. In Jesus' precious name. Amen.
