praising Jesus

I'm a prayerful working mom [small rehab practise] and full time parent for my 3 teens.......I live to laugh!

God's help is always there but a person has to take the first step!"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." ~ Benjamin Franklin

I asked God to bless me,
and sun shone on my face.

when sad thoughts worried me,
Jesus brought friends to care.

I wanted God to love me,
and everywhere I saw His creation and mercy.

God is good all ways.....ALWAYS!

taking time to pray

I got up early one morning
And rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
That I didn't have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me
And heavier came each task;
"Why doesn't God help me?",I wondered.
He answered,"You didn't ask".

I wanted to see joy and beauty
But the day toiled on,gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn't show me.
He said,"But you didn't seek".

I tried to come into God's presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"My ,you didn't knock".

I woke up early this morning
And paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust
destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys
and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure
is, there your heart will be also. - Matthew 6:19-21.

Our Lord..........our good shepherd
was the theme at church today....
...many songs used the words of Psalm 23

1 Peter 5:6 - Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

1 Peter 5 - Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:8 - Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:9 - Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,
but GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go no longer,
but the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)

At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,
but the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Psa. 13)

Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough,
but GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid, etc., (Matt. 6:25 -34)

When I thought I would fall, HE kept me up.
When I thought I was weak, HE kept me strong! (I Pet. 5, Matt. 11:28-30)

I could go on and on and on, but I'm sure you hear me!
I'm blessed to be 'kept.'

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut.
After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies,
'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this
week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop.

When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a
'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his
bill, the barber again replies,
'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this
week.' The cop is happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a 'thank
you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when
he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies,
'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this
week.' The professor is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'thank
you' card and a dozen different books, such as
'How to Improve Your Business' and 'Becoming More Successful.

'Then, a Congressman comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay
his bill the barber again replies,
'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this
week.' The Congressman is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen
Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between
the citizens of our country and the members of our Congress.--

Be full of love for others, following the example of Christ Who loved you,
and gave Himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins.
