Who is going to take the shield of faith out into the ghettos?
And witness to the street gangs of the night
Who is going to be the bold one, to tell the pimps and prostitutes?
The affection that they crave is found in Christ
Who will take the breastplate of righteousness to the country’s schools?
And preach holiness to every boy and girl

Well it is you and it’s me, who witness for the Saviour and be the light of Jesus to the world

Tell me, who will walk strong and tall, and gird their loins with truth
And stand and say, abortion is a sin
Who will confront the politicians, with all their deception, and say in heaven God will not let liars in?
Who will take the helmet of salvation out into Wall Street, and teach wealth is more than cars, diamonds and pearls

Well it is you and it’s me, who take the cross of Calvary and be the light of Jesus to the world
I said it is you and its me, we are the world’s examples, our government won’t teach us how to pray
Tell me when was the last time you witnessed to your neighbor and told him Jesus is the way.

Someone has to walk this gospel of peace and throughout our nations,
Our TV game shows will not clear our jails
Because it is you and it’s me, who’ll bear the light of God
And be the light of Jesus to the world

I said it is you and it’s me,
We’re still called His disciples
Who’ll bring the light of Jesus to the World?

I must use this moment wisely, for soon it will pass away and lost to me forever as yesterday.

I must exercise compassion, help the fallen to their feet, be a friend to the friendless and make an empty life complete.

A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million. It depends whose hands it's in.

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6.A baseball in Mark McGwire's hands is worth $19 million. It depends whose hands it's in.

A tennis racket is useless in my hands. A tennis racket in Venus Williams' hands is a Championship Winning. It depends whose hands it's in.

A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal. A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea. It depends whose hands it's in.

A sling shot in my hands is a 's toy. A sling shot in David's hand is a mighty weapon. It depends whose hands it's in.

Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches. Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in God's hands will feed thousands. It depends whose hands it's in.

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse. Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will produce salvation for the entire world. It depends whose hands it's in.

As you see now it depends whose hands it's in. So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families and your relationships in God's hands because...It depends whose hands it's in.

You have two choices

Jerry is the manager of a restaurant. He is always in a good mood.
When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would always reply:
"If I were any better, I would be twins!"
If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was always there, telling him how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him:
"I don't get it! No one can be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"
Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, I have two choices today. I can choose to be in a good mood or I can choose to be in a bad mood.
I always choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be victim or I can choose to learn from it. I always choose to learn from it.
Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I always choose the positive side of life."
"But it's not always that easy,” I protested.
"Yes it is," Jerry said.
"Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice.
You choose how you react to situations.
You choose how people will affect your mood.
You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.
It's your choice how you live your life."
Several years later,
I heard that Jerry accidentally did something you are never supposed to do in the restaurant business.
He left the back door of his restaurant open
Then in the morning, he was robbed by three armed men.
While Jerry trying to open the safe box,
his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination.
The robbers panicked and shot him.
Luckily, Jerry was found quickly and rushed to the hospital.
After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.…
I saw Jerry about six months after the accident.
When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Want to see my scars?"
I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.
"The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied.
"Then, after they shot me, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or could choose to die. I chose to live."
"Weren't you scared“ I asked?
Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine.
But when they wheeled me into the Emergency Room and I saw the expression on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared.
In their eyes, I read 'He's a dead man.
I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything."
'Yes,' to bullets, I replied
Over their laughter, I told them: “I am choosing to live. Please operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.”
"Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude.
I learned from him that every day you have the choice to either enjoy your life or to hate it.
The only thing that is truly yours - that no one can control or take from you ‒
is your attitude,
so if you can take care of that, everything else in life becomes much easier.

I've learned

I've Learned

I've learned that when you're in love, it shows.

I've leaned that just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!"
makes my day.

I've learned that what we do for only ourselves dies with us, but what we do selflessly for others becomes immortal.

I've learned that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned never to humiliate another person.

I've learned that if you are still talking about what you did yesterday, you haven't done much today.

I've learned that when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned that no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned that life is tough, but I am tougher.

I've learned that friends are telling you something you should really listen to them even when it's something that you really don't want to hear.

I've learned that when you fall flat on your bottom, you look more like an idiot if you let it get you down. If you bounce right back up again with a smile on your face however, things work out better and easier for you.

I've learned that no matter how many times you lose someone you love, it still hurts just as bad as if it were the first time.

I've learned to live like you're gonna die tomorrow...

Why worry when you can pray?

With thanks to Janis Hill

Act your age!

Ok, I am 43 years old and love life. I am still with both feet in it but seem to be out of touch with reality. I do not know if it is just South Africans that switch the lights off after 40 but when I am in the que to do white river rafting or something crazy according to my , I seem to be one of the oldest persons there. The others my age will be trying to back out and are only there because their got them there in the 1st place. In my case it would be my 17 year old trying to back out, because I got him there. I still love taking mountain hikes and the response I normally get if I ask someone to go with is, can't we rather watch the movie. A friend my age told me I have enough energy to drive a 3rd world country and should join the army.

Please understand, I am not bouncing up and down like a ping pong ball. I also enjoy quite weekends at home working in the garden or watching a movie. I do not undertake life threatening exercises but I do enjoy pushing the boundaries every now and again.

I've cut down on the vitamins, did not help. Is professional help next?

I enjoy being over 40 and the freedom it brings but how are you suppose to act over 40?
