The Rules of Chocolate

If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.
Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.
The problem: How to get two pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car. The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.
Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less.
A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?
If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?
If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.
Money talks. Chocolate sings.
Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.
Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous? Because no one wants to quit.
Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.
Chocolate is a health food. Chocolate is derived from cacao beans. Bean = vegetable. Sugar is derived either from sugar beets or cane, both vegetables. And, of course, the milk/cream is dairy. So eat more chocolate to meet the dietary requirements for daily vegetable and dairy intake.
HAPPY EASTER !!!

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

This is my favorite Easter passage:
John 20:10-18 (NIV) Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?"
"They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him." At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
"Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?" "Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."
Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

FAITH SHOULD NOT BE USED AS A WEDGE TO DIVIDE

Faith should not be used as a wedge to divide.
“We think of faith as a source of comfort and understanding but find our expressions of faith sowing division; we believe ourselves to be a tolerant people even as racial, religious, and cultural tensions roil the landscape. And instead of resolving these tensions or mediating these conflicts, our politics fans them, exploits them, and drives us further apart.” ‒ The Audacity of Hope.
“Well, I say to them tonight, there's not a liberal America and a conservative America ‒ there's the United States of America. There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America ‒ there's the United States of America. The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported it. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America.” ‒ Obama’s DNC Keynote Address.

What is Easter?... or you might be a redneck if...

Three Rednecks just died, and arrive at the Pearly Gates of Heaven. St. Peter tells them that they can enter the gates if they can answer one simple question.
St Peter asks the first Redneck, "WHAT IS EASTER?"
The Redneck replies, "Oh, that's easy, it's the holiday in November when everybody gets together, eats turkey, and is thankful..."
"WRONG," replies St. Peter, and proceeds to ask the second Redneck the same question, "WHAT IS EASTER?
The second Redneck replies, "No, Easter is the holiday in December when we put up a nice tree, exchange presents, and celebrate the birth of Jesus."
St. Peter looks at the second Redneck, shakes his head in disgust, looks at the third Redneck and asks, "WHAT IS EASTER?"
The third Redneck smiles and looks St. Peter in the eye.
"I know what Easter is. Easter is the Christian holiday that coincides with the Jewish celebration of Passover. Jesus and his disciples were eating at the last supper and Jesus was later deceived and turned over to the Romans by one of his disciples. The Romans took him to be crucified and he was stabbed in the side, made to wear a crown of thorns, and was hung on a cross with nails through his hands. He was buried in a nearby cave which was sealed off by a large boulder."
St. Peter smiles broadly with delight.
The third Redneck continues, "Every year the boulder is moved aside so that Jesus can come out... and, if he sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter."
St. Peter again shakes his head in disgust and says- God please... I need a vacation!

MY STATEMENT OF FAITH... I've come a long way baby!

I was raised very conservative... more than you could ever know- I understand that mind set... My life is not perfect... no one's life ever is- but I am more at peace with who I am as a person... with God's healing I now have a mind of my own and I am thankful.
My life's goal is that my will is in line with God's will because this is the most important and deepest prayer of my heart... and God has made the promise to give His the desires of their heart especially if those desires line up with His will for our lives. God can not and does not break his promises.
I am in Christ and my life and salvation are sealed by the Holy Spirit and purchased with the blood of Jesus- and the power of His love for me protects me from harm- His angels have charge over me and the darkness of this life can not harm me, touch me or control me.
I am no longer held captive by the mandates of the early, fear-based, conservatively legalistic teachings that filled my childhood... if other's around me who are also my brothers and my sisters choose to live and follow conservative teachings then that's simply where you are and choose to be in your life... that's a choice we are all free to make- go for it...
It is my right and my freedom in Christ to listen and try to see your point of view and do my best to be tolerant and understanding but I may also agree to disagree with you. We can't always see eye to eye on all things but we can still respect and love one another in the process.

LOL... I'm just kidding...that was something I heard John Stewart say and have been wanting to use it ever since. I think Obama will be a great president if he gets voted into office.
I can't remember ever voting Democrat but I have been following him in the race and I am always impressed with who he is as a person and the ideas he has for the future of this country.
He is an exceptionally good man with very good character and he talks openly about his faith in Christ in a way that I have never heard any politician and very few men ever do. He's much less like a politician and much more like a real person with a good character and a good heart than anyone I have ever seen run for office.
I was listening to his speech about racial unity and I was really moved and inspired... "Together we can move beyond some of our old racial wounds"... this was one of the things he said. He has a very profound and timely vision for America.
I can't ever really remember the last time a political speech had that kind of affect on me. If you get the chance check it on you-tube or any of the major news websites

The Beatles and Drug use

I made a comment about the Beatles and drug use on BC blog. Although I do like the Beatles and enjoy their music- don't get the wrong idea.
Before anyone thinks or says the wrong thing about me... no I do not condone the use or abuse of drugs in anyway... drugs are bad- just say no!
But even if you do drugs or have done them you are never beyond the reach of God's love or healing.
We all have addictions in our lives in one form or another. I believe that when we get to the place where we can face and overcome the personal addictions of this life- we are then able, with the help and love of God, to set ourselves free... so we can walk upright and put our feet on the path that God has chosen for our lives.
Then we are able to truly be alive, fufill our destiny, give back, change the world, grow and bless the lives of others. Life can be beautiful... if you let it be.

You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming. -- Alan, age 10
No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with. -- Kristen, age 10
WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED? Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then. -- Camille, age 10
HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED? You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same . -- Derrick, age 8
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON? Both don't want any more . -- Lori, age 8
WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE? Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough. -- Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure)
On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date. -- Martin, age 10
WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR? I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns. -- Craig, age 9
WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE? When they're rich. -- Pam, age 7
The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that. - - Curt, age 7
The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have with them. It's the right thing to do. -- Howard, age 8
IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED? It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them. -- Anita, age 9 (bless you )
HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED? There sure would be a lot of to explain, wouldn't there? -- Kelvin, age 8
And the #1 Favorite is........ HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK? Tell your wife that she looks pre tty, even if she looks like a dump truck. -- Ricky, age 10

Lord Im really glad youre here. I hope you feel the same when You see all my fear... and how I fail, I fall sometimes.
Its hard to walk on shifting sand. I miss the rock, and find there's Nowhere left to stand-I start to cry. Lord, please help me raise my hands so you can pick me up.
Hold me close, Hold me tighter.
I have found a place where I can hide. Its safe inside your arms of love. Like a whos held throughout a storm, You keep me warm in your arms of love.
Storms will come and storms will go. Wonder just how many storms it takes Until I finally know- you're here always. Even when my skies are far from gray, I can stay- teach me to stay there,
In the place Ive found where I can hide. It's safe inside- your arms of love. Like a whos held throughout a storm, You keep me warm in your arms of love.

We Will Stand

Sometimes it's hard for me to understand Why we pull away from each other so easily, Even though we're all walking the same road Yet we build dividing walls between Our brothers and ourselves.
But I, I don't care what label you may wear If you believe in Jesus you belong with me. The bond we share is all I care to see And we'll change the world forever If you will join with me, Join and sing, sing,
You're my brother, you're my sister, So take me by the hand Together we will work until He comes. There's no foe that can defeat us When we're walking side by side. So long as there is love, We will stand.
The day will come when we will be as one, And with a mighty voice together we will proclaim that Jesus Jesus is King. It will echo through the earth; It will shake the nations, And the world will see, See that you're my brother, you're my sister So take me by the hand Together we will work until He comes. There's no foe that can defeat us When we're walking side by side. So long as there is love, We will stand.
Take me by the hand, Join with me. Join and see - yeah. You're my brother, you're my sister, So take me by the hand. Together we will work until He comes. There's no foe that can defeat us When we're walking side by side. As long as there is love, We will stand You're my brother, you're my sister So take me by the hand Together we will work until He comes. There's no foe that can defeat us When we're walking side by side. So long as there is love, We will stand.
