One of the doctors I work for had a nephew born yesterday. The baby has a hole in his lung and he is fighting for his life, with 50/50 odd of survival. Please pray for this baby. His name is Brady.
Thanks,
Merry

Lesson of the butterfly

Lesson of the butterfly

From the cocoon he began to struggle
Amazing was the sight,
As that little butterfly
Strained with all its might.

I thought, I’ll clip some fibers,
That a helper I might be,
And make it so much easier
For the poor thing to get free.

I knew not it took that struggle
To spread its wings and fly
I made of it a cripple
To just lay there and die.

The lesson of the butterfly
Should help us all to know
Why our loving God could suffer
To see us struggle so.

For the greater bonds we struggle
Could be the reason why
We gain the strength to climb or soar
And reach the goal most high.

HEAT WAVE !!!

Yippee! It is warm today and the sun is shining. The temp is in the 50's; tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 60's and I am going to sit in my van at lunch and nap in the sunshine. The snow is beginning to melt and the streets are several inches deep in water and mud. If you so much as step off the sidewalk, you are lost in the muck. We finally found the dog's chain under the ice (it has been there for over a month), and now he has to get used to life on the chain again .

Maybe spring is finally on the way!!

I will sing with the morning sun
And bless His name when the day is done
For He has redeemed me and called me his own
And made me an heir to His Father’s throne.

The precious unmerited favor of God
Has been extended to me
The marvelous grace of my Savior
Knows no boundaries
Mercy and pardon still reaches out
To those who choose to be free
The precious unmerited favor of God
Has been extended to me.

I will rise on the wings of praise
Exalt the Lord for all of His ways
He who was sinless was made sin for me
My debts have been cancelled and nailed to the tree.

Grace, grace, God’s grace
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God’s grace
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

The precious unmerited favor of God
Has been extended to me.

Unmerited Favor of God
Words & music by Dottie Rambo

This song has blessed me over and over. Whenever I think I've done something unforgivable that has separated me from God, this song ministers to my spirit by reminding me that God can forgive and will forgive when we confess our sins to Him, and not only that, but He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I Jn 1:9)

And as He has forgiven us, so we must forgive those who offend us.

A post by Monk40 prompted me to think about inventions that have improved our lives. I was going to make it a poll, but there are so many, it was difficult to choose. There have been some reports of dying from flu. Our local hospital reportedly has 30 who are ill with the flu (this is a small town). Schools have been closed around the country (Nebraska, N. Carolina, Oklahoma to name a few).

Those of you who have been hit by it can testify that it is a hard-hitting bug this year. If you or your get it, don't wait around--visit the doctor and get some medication.

Flu symptoms start suddenly and include a fever of more than 100 degrees plus chills, headache, sore throat, cough, extreme fatigue and body aches.

May the Mind of Christ My Savior

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling all I do and say.

May the word of God dwell richly
in my heart from hour to hour
So that all may see I triumph only through His power.

May the peace of God, my Father,
rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me,
as the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing--this is victory.

May I run the race before me,
strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus as I onward go.

May His beauty rest upon me
as I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel, seeing only Him.

Kate B. Wilkinson (1859-192

This is one of my favorite hymns. For a long time, I had these words taped into the front of my Bible, but not too long ago, I fell while holding my Bible, and this page was ripped and ruined. I may remake it and put it back, because reading this poem is such an inspiration. I hope it blesses all of you, too!

~Why did the deer cross the road?~

IT’S HUNTING SEASON AND THEY ARE AFTER YOUR CAR!

Most people don’t realize this, but deer are hunters too. They hunt vehicles. The larger and more expensive the vehicle, the more points they get for bringing it down. Down at the watering hole, the bucks brag in front of the does about the BMW or fancy SUV that they took down (remember those Geico commercials with squirrels high-fiving?). And that little silver plate on your car that names the make or model? That is their trophy. Have you ever noticed that the insignia is often missing from the car after a deer accident? The deer take them home and hang them on the wall in their dens. They are particularly fond of Neon signs, as they want them to hang over the bar; so if you drive a Neon be especially alert for deer.
