Ah, the aroma of the barbecue grill!
One of my favorite smells of spring--although I know there are diehards who grill in the winter, most of us pull out the grill on those warm spring evenings for a taste of burgers, hot dogs or steaks.
Enjoy the sizzle!

I've slowed to a crawl...
Sorry I haven't been on the blogs much lately. I am still trying to deal with the effects of the time change, plus my usual level of pain and tiredness.
The doc hired a new person to help out at the front desk and insurance, and after two days she already knows pretty much everything, because she's had experience on these things before. So I am having to stay on my toes, because I am concerned about being replaced.
That plus spring break and having all four of my has really stressed me. For some reason, they keep wanting to be fed!!! Do any of you have experience with that? Anyway, yesterday, I finally told them that they REALLY needed to give me some help around the house, and they did. I came home to a wonderfully aromatic supper of baked chicken with alfredo pasta, salad and cherry pie w. ice cream. Mmmm. And the house was clean and the laundry done. Maybe I should ask more often!

I live in such a small town that we don't have paved streets. This picture was taken of our gravel street after yesterday's rain. The setting sun reflected in the puddles.

This beautiful tree is blooming across the street from my house. My took the picture. I think it is a crabapple tree, but I am not sure; it might be a cherry tree.

I just read on yahoo news that a maker of and cat food is recalling their product because animals have been dying after eating it. If you don't use brand-name foods, such as purina, you might want to check out the list--apparently they supply a lot of stores including Hy-Vee, Krogers, Sav-a-lot and Wal-Mart.
Try this: w w w dottie menufoods dottie commie slash recall and see if you get the list.

I saw this sunrise in my rear-view mirror as I was driving to work this morning, so I stopped and took a picture of it. Thanks to Dan (danoddb) and his inspiration, I have started carrying my camera to work with me so I can preserve some of the beauty I see each day.

WooHoo, the crocuses are up! Or should that be croci? Anyway, they are peeking through the leaves and heralding the coming of Spring, Spring, glorious Spring!
My took this out in the yard with my "new" digital camera that my brother gave me. To look at the yard, everything looks dead, but if you look closely, there are lots of surpises!

Communion

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper, he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. I Cor. 11: 23-26 (NIV).
So, my friends, when you come together to the Lord's Table, be reverent and courteous with one another...By no means risk turning this Meal into an eating and drinking binge or a family squabble. It is a spirtual meal. I Cor. 11: 33-34 (The Message)
Father, we thank you for the gift of Your . Jesus Christ, how we love You for making the sacrifice necessary to purchase salvation for us. Holy Spirit, dwell in us and bring us into the likeness of the of God.
I pray for my BC friends today. May the Lord bring us together in unity and love as we partake of Communion together. Even though it is only in cyberspace, we are still all joined together because we are parts of one body. Pray for and bless the person above you as you pass the Communion on.
Love you, brothers and sisters of mine, Merry

Dear John...

Yeah, I need a maintenance man! I hope this will give you a head's up, John, but if not, maybe somebody else can help me here.
I discovered water trickling out of the closet where the water heater resides. Upon closer inspection, the water is dripping from the pop-off valve. How do I make it stop? Why is it leaking anyway? The water heater is only a couple of years old. It must have been dripping for a while, cause the wooden floor it is on is completely soaked. It's in a closet that I never look in and wouldn't have if it hadn't started running out from under the door.
Somebody give me some ideas, OK??
Wow, first "Dear John" letter I've ever written. Why does everybody hate those?
