Kacang hijau

Sewaktu memasak kacang hijau sebaiknya jangan terlalu lama.
If you have or grandchildren, work with at church, or you have neighborhood whose parents you know, please take note of the information below and pass it along to others. Schools are distributing this book to through the Scholastic Book Club.

The name of the book is Conversations with God... James Dobson talked about this book twice this week. It is devastating.
Parents, churches and Christian schools need to be aware of it. Please pass this information on to church/e-mail addresses, Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends.

Please pay special attention not only to what your watch on TV, in movie theaters, on the internet, and the music they listen to, but also be alert regarding the books they read.

Two particular books are, Conversations with God and Conversations with God for Teens, written by Neale D. Walsch.
They sound harmless enough by their titles alone. The books have been on the New York Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and they make truth of the statement, "Don't judge a book by its cover or title."

The author purports to answer various questions asked by using the "voice of God".. However, the "answers" that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question "Why am I a lesbian?" His answer is that she was 'born that way' because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and "celebrate" her differences.

Another girls poses the question "I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?"

His reply is, "Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong..."

Another question asks about God's forgiveness of sin. His reply "I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is "'judge not lest ye be judged."

Not only are these books the false doctrine of the devil, but in some instances quote (in error) the Word of God.

And the list goes on. These books (and others like it) are being sold to school through (The Scholastic Book Club), and we need to be aware of what is being fed to our .

Our are under attack.. So I pray that you be sober and vigilant about teaching your the Word of God, and guarding their exposure to worldly mediums, because our adversary, the devil, roams about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:. We know that lions usually hunt for the slowest, weakest and YOUNGEST of its prey.

Pass this on to every Believer you know. God bless! And, if you are in doubt, check out the books yourself.

Microwaving Water!

A 26-year old man decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water
and put it in the microwave to heat it up (something that he had done
numerous times before). I am not sure how long he set the timer for, but
he wanted to bring the water to a boil. When the timer shut the oven off,
he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he noted that
the! water was not boiling, but suddenly the water in the cup 'blew up'
into his face. The cup remained intact until he threw it out of his hand,
but all the water had flown out into his face due to the build up of
energy. His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to
his face which may leave scarring.

He also may have lost partial sight in his left eye. While at the
hospital, the doctor who was attending to him stated that this is a fairly
common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave
oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the
cup to diffuse the energy such as a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc..,
(nothing metal).

General Electric's Response:Thanks for contacting us, I will be happy to
assist you. The e-mail that you received is correct. Microwaved water and
other liquids do not always bubble when they reach the boiling point. They
can actually get superheated and not bubble at all. The superheated liquid
will bubble up out of the cup when it is moved or when something like a
spoon or tea bag is put into it.

To prevent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid
for more than two minutes per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the
microwave for thirty seconds! before moving it or adding anything into it.

Here is what our local science teacher had to say on the matter: 'Thanks
for the microwave warning. I have seen this happen before. It is caused by
a phenomenon known as super heating. It can occur anytime water is heated
and will particularly occur if the vessel that the water is heated in is
new, or when heating a small amount of water (less than half a cup).

What happens is that the water heats faster than the vapor bubbles can
form. If the cup is very new then it is unlikely to have small surface
scratches inside it that provide a place for the bubbles to form. As the
bubbles cannot form and release some of the heat has built up, the liquid
does not boil, and the liquid continues to heat up well past its boiling
point.

What then usually happens is that the liquid is bumped or jarred, which is
just enough of a shock to cause the bubbles to rapidly form and expel the
hot liquid. The rapid formation of bubbles is also why a carbonated
beverage spews when opened after having been shaken.

My wife called, 'How long will you be with that newspaper? Will you come here and make your darling eat her food?

I tossed the paper away and rushed to the scene. My only , Sindu, looked frightened; tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of her was a bowl filled to its brim with curd rice. Sindu is a nice , quite intelligent for her age.

I cleared my throat and picked up the bowl. 'Sindu, darling, why don't you take a few mouthful of this curd rice? Just for Dad's sake, dear'.

Sindu softened a bit and wiped her tears with the back of her hands. 'Ok, Dad. I will eat - not just a few mouthfuls, but the whole lot of this. But, you should...' Sindu hesitated. 'Dad, if I eat this entire curd Rice, will you give me whatever I ask for?'

'Promise'. I covered the pink soft hand extended by my with mine, and clinched the deal. Now I became a bit anxious. 'Sindu, dear, you shouldn't insist on getting a computer or any such expensive items. Dad does not have that kind of money right now. Ok?'

'No, Dad. I do not want anything expensive'. Slowly and painfully, she finished eating the whole quantity. I was silently angry with my wife and my mother for forcing my to eat something that she detested.

After the ordeal was through, Sindu came to me with her eyes wide with expectation. All our attention was on her.

'Dad, I want to have my head shaved off, this Sunday!' was her demand.

'Atrocious!' shouted my wife, 'A girl having her head shaved off? Impossible!'

'Never in our family!' My mother rasped. 'She has been watching too much of television. Our culture is getting totally spoiled with these TV programs!'

'Sindu, darling, why don't you ! ask for something else? We will be sad seeing you with a clean-shaven head.'

'Please, Sindu, why don't you try to understand our feelings?' I tried to plead with her.

'Dad, you saw how difficult it was for me to eat that Curd Rice'.
Sindu was in tears. 'And you promised to grant me whatever I ask for. Now, you are going back on your words. Was it not you who told me the story of King Harishchandra, and its moral that we should honor our promises no matter what?'

It was time for me to call the shots. 'Our promise must be kept.'

'Are you out of your mind?' chorused my mother and wife.

'No. If we go back on our promises, she will never learn to honour her own... Sindu, your wish will be fulfilled.'

With her head clean-shaven, Sindu had a round-face, and her eyes looked big and beautiful.

On Monday morning, I dropped her at her school. It was a sight to watch my hairless Sindu walking towards her classroom. She turned around and waved. I waved back with a smile. Just then, a boy alighted from a car, and shouted, 'Sinduja, please wait for me!' What struck me was the hairless head of that boy. 'May be, that is the in-stuff', I thought.

'Sir, your Sinduja is great indeed!' Without introducing
herself, a lady got out of the car, and continued, 'that boy who is
walking along with your is my Harish. He is suffering from... leukemia'. She paused to muffle her sobs. 'Harish could not attend the school for the whole of the last month. He lost all his hair due to the side effects of the chemotherapy. He refused to come back to school fearing the unintentional but cruel teasing of the schoolmates. Sinduja visited him last week, and promised him that she will take care of the teasing issue. But, I never imagined she would sacrifice her lovely hair for the sake of my ! Sir, you and your wife are blessed to have such a noble soul as your .'!

I stood transfixed and then, I wept. 'My little Angel, you are
teaching me how selfless real love is!'

The happiest people on this planet are not those who live on their own
terms but are those who change their terms for the ones whom they
love...

This pastor has guts.
It seems prayer still upsets some people. Please read.....

When Minister Joseph Wright (NOT Obama's pastor!!!) was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard;

'Heavenly Father,

We come before you today

To ask your forgiveness and

To seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says,

'Woe to those who call evil good'

But that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium

And reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and

Called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness

And called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn

and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists

And called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline ur

And called it building self esteem.

We have abused power

And called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions

And called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography

And called it freedom of speech and expression.

We have ridiculed the time honored values of our forefathers

And called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God,

And know our hearts today;

Cleanse us from every sin

And set us free. Amen!'

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio Program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than anyother he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our Nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'one nation under God.'

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. 'If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.'

Think about this: If you forward this prayer to everyone on your email list, in less than 30 days it would be heard by The world.

How many people in your address book will not receive This prayer.....do you have the guts to pass it on?

You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his
wife now having cancer and him having "wealth" from the book
sales. This is an absolutely incredible short interview with
Rick Warren,"Purpose Driven Life " author and pastor of Saddleback
Church in California.

In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:
People ask me, What is the purpose of life? And I respond: In a
nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to
last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven. One day
my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body
but not the end of me.

I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend
trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the
dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will
do forever in eternity. We were made by God and for God, and
until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.

Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're
just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into
another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested
in your character than your comfort. God is more interested in
making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.
We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the
goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ
likeness.

This past year has been the greatest year of my life
but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.
I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through
a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth.
I don't believe that anymore. Rather than life being hills and
valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad
track, and at all times you have something good and something bad
in your life. No matter how good things are in your life, there
is always something bad that needs to be worked on.
And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always
something good you can thank God for. You can focus on your
purposes, or you can focus on your problems. If you focus on your
problems, you're going into self-centeredness,"which is my
problem, my issues, my pain." But one of the easiest ways to get
rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and
others.

We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds
of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it
easy for her. It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has
strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other
people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to
people.

You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.
Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For
instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold
15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy. It also
brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with
before. I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your
own ego or for you to live a life of ease. So I began to ask
God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and
influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me
decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.

First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change
our lifestyle one bit.. We made no major purchases. Second, about
midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the
church. Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we
call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist
the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation.
Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 year
since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was
liberating to be able to serve God for free.

We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions?
Popularity? Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt?
Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's
purposes (for my life)? When I get up in the morning, I sit on
the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else
done today, I want to know You more and love You better..
God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to do list. He's
more interested in what I am than what I do. That's why we're
called human beings, not human doings.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.
