The night before Christmas, 11.15, all is quiet, all is ready... This is what happens to santa if the farmers catch him in their paddock!

Tonight the carols by candlelight are on in town... We will have to rug up, the wild sou'wester's blowing and rain is forecast.. But we're not going to miss it, time of community and unity, an outreach to the people, once again the Story will be told... Praise God!

Anyway, thank God most memories are good.... Here's a pic of the angels in my nativity play... My youngest ( 4 ) is in the foreground and my eldest ( 8 ) is at the back, waving from behind another of the angels....

My was brought up knowing santa was a Christmas decoration... Why? Because I never wanted him to be told, or be led to believe in, lies... BUT! You know, all those decorations and santas, keep Christmas alive! Somehow His story gets told, no matter what! When he was little, my and I used to even have a b'day cake for Jesus... My was never deprived of the joy of Christmas... If anything it was prolonged, because Christmas for us as Christians isnt about one day of the year... It's about EVERYDAY, amen! We have a tree up, we have decorations and yes there are even santa things... There are light tours around the neighborhood, even competitions for the best display... And in amongst it all, there are nativity scenes, etc. It may have been commercialised, BUT what would happen to Christmas if it was just left to the Christians? It is the one thing that unites people all across the world.. You know, my Bible tells me, that He turns everything around for good, the enemy meant for our harm... I realised the other day, my first Christian outreach, was back in '79. I united all the where I was living, to put on a nativity play... My husband and his friend made the stage, I painted the back drop and all the did their costumes... We had fruit bowls for wisemens crowns etc. A real live lamb and a real live baby... And Cleopatra did the narrative! BUT the story got told! Why did Cleopatra do the narrative, because one girl, Jodie, wanted to be Cleopatra.. I knew she didnt know Cleo wasn't around in Jesus time, but I let her be Cleo and included her, by letting her be the narrator... She read the Story aloud for ALL to hear, so seeds were sown that night, and I wonder how much fruit was borne?
I have taken a pic of my old photos, they have deteriorated, I wonder if there is anything that can be done?

Gloria Jean! For her delectable French Vanilla coffee... The aroma is just beautiful... I was getting swollen ankles and asked my doc what would help, I DONT like medications... She told me "coffee, one a day, but it wont work if it's decaf" I tried it and it works.. I bought a lil coffee plunger and some of Gloria Jeans French Vanilla coffee and brew it up once a day, mmmm mmm, bliss.... I also bought her decaf French Vanilla, because I love coffee and I cant drink too much, because it keeps me awake... My coffee plunger has a face... (so my says!) We go to Gloria Jeans every week, I have a regular Latte and my has a hot white choc with marshmallows...

Girl snatched from her childhood finds her way back home JASON KOUTSOUKIS IN YAMBIO 15 Dec, 2010 08:42 AM
Not even Zaha Mary's parents knew their 10-year-old was alive.
Last December, Mary was walking alone along a road near Yei to visit her aunt when she was snatched by Africa's most feared militia, the Lord's Resistance Army, and forced to march more than 800 kilometres to Obo in the Central African Republic. She was handed as a gift to a senior LRA warlord.
''We have yet to interview her properly,'' said Lieutenant-Colonel John Damulira of the Ugandan People's Defence Force. ''We don't know really know the extent of her suffering.''
Zaha was found in an isolated LRA encampment in the Central African Republic on Wednesday and flown to a Ugandan army base near her home in the south.
''We engaged in a gun battle with the LRA this morning,'' Colonel Damulira told the Herald this week. ''This girl was injured slightly but we were able to rescue her.''
A messianic cult founded in Uganda in the 1980s, the LRA has terrorised villagers in southern Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic since it was pushed out of Uganda in 2005.
Notorious for the savagery of its attacks against villagers in its search for food and valuables, the LRA also has a history of forcing women as young as Zaha into sexual servitude.
''We are rescuing women like Mary every week as part of our operations against the LRA,'' Colonel Damulira said. ''Last week we rescued 13 girls like her.''
Working closely with the government of Southern Sudan in an effort to rout the LRA, Colonel Damulira believes the core of the LRA and its leader, Joseph Kony, are most likely hiding out in Darfur, in Sudan.
''They have nowhere to go from here. Incursions into southern Sudan, Congo and Uganda are getting less. Rates of abduction, looting and murder at the hands of the LRA are also dropping,'' he said. ''But this is a very brutal group of men. Defeating them will not be easy.''
This week the Herald visited a makeshift camp near Yambio, in southern Sudan, established by men and women who have lost their spouses in LRA attacks.
Juliana Bingo, 23, has lived there since she was freed by Ugandan troops in January.
She was abducted from her village near Yambio when she was 17.
Forced to marry an LRA commander named Sisto, who she said was the third most senior LRA member behind Kony, Bingo soon gave birth to a , Simon, now three years old.
''It is a very brutal way of living. When you break the rules, you are beaten. ''Your role is to serve the men, to make sure that everything they tell you to do is done very quickly because they are always on the run, you never really know where you will be sleeping the next day, the next week.''
During the firefight that led to her freedom, Bingo's husband was killed.
''At first I was in mourning. This was a man I had spent every day with for the last five years. But then, as the weeks and months passed, I began to see what he had done to me, and today I live in fear of the LRA.''
All in the name of the Lord! It is just as the Bible says it would be... How thankful should we be, in our coccooned lil worlds, heh!

Dawntreader..

Took my to see The Voyage Of The Dawntreader movie on Sat. It was 3D, which I didnt like, the glasses were not very clear to look thru. My said it was the best movie he's seen... BUT it was great to do something with him, we hadn't been to a movie for a while. That old song, Memories are Made of This, sung by Dino Martino, kept going thru my mind! After a good long break, and going to another church, for a while, we went back to our old church on Sun. They had moved to a new building and we were welcomed back with some lovely hugs etc. I think sometimes you have to leave to be appreciated, if you get what I mean... Dont know what you,ve got til it's gone etc. Just fell straight back into everything, my boy went and co-led childrens church and I'm back on the worship team. Worship leader said that, she'd been missing me the night before, at practice, and only just realised what a big gap I'd left. I'm the kind of person that is generous and if I discovered some music I really liked, I'd get one of the guys to run off copies for every one... Bake chocolate brownie to have with a coffee after church, etc. (which happened to be worship leaders fav.) Not to score points or anything, it's just my nature, it gives me great pleasure to be a blessing and give as much as I can.. Just like to go the extra mile... IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD!!!!
