...I am so sorry your Razorbacks went down in defeat. Granted, they made it around farther than my Wildcats...but it was pure grit that got my Wildcats there with a first year coach, lack luster recruitment the past few years and injury plagued players this season.

It had to be embarrassing...what was it, a 31 point deficit?

Give the Cats another season for rebuilding and yo will see the true powerhouse once again.

You just can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse....mmmuuahahaha

...I have banned my first person since becoming a member of BC. This individual admitted hiding behind a false profile and continued to post false allegations on one of my blog posts.

I am praying they find their identity in Christ and experience true peace and happiness.

What was going on in the tomb and in Heaven?

Ever wonder? We study and know much about "Thursday and Friday and Sunday" of the crucifixion and resurrection story. But what about Saturday?

While Jesus body lay in the cold dark tomb, what was going on in Heaven...in the tomb...

Ever wonder???

...revealed something very interesting. In the center of the cemetery, about 12 feet in the air balanced on four stone pillars is a large bell.

There is a written history of the cemetery that indicates that when there was a death in the community, somebody would go and slowly ring the bell.

This signal would cause people from all across the hills and valleys to stop what they were doing and head to the church.

Upon arrival, the men would begin digging the grave while the women would go comfort the family of the deceased. The simple communication of a bell tolling brought deep, meaningful and abiding interaction in the community.

My, how times have changed.

Today, we have technologies...cell phones, pagers, IM, TM, email, blogs...we have improved our communication but have we lost the depth of our compassion and community? The face to face, shoulder to shoulder, comfort and strength the community of faith should share?

Just "thinking out loud" - what do you think?

...Jesus was washing His disciples feet and celebrating the passover - which He was about to become.

During the Seder, Jesus pointed out how the passover was symbolic of Him! (More on this in a later blog post)

He fortold of Judas' betrayal...of Peter's denial...that all would be offended because of Him.

Then He went to Gethsemane (Matt 26:36)in agony over what He was about to face. There He prayed "not My will, but thine be done". Victory over the flesh!

There, they came and arrested Him and brought Him before Annas, then Caiaphas, the Sanhedrin, then to Pilot, to Herod, back to Pilot...the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in Hebrew Gabbatha. (John 19:13) God's will was done through the hands of sinful men. Victory over the world!

From Gabbatha Jesus was taken to Golgotha. There they crucified Him. Victory over sin!

From Golgotha they took Him to a borrowed Grave. But the grave could not hold Him! Victory over death!

Ultimately, Christ ascended to the right hand of the Father...where He is seated in Glory! He won the Victory over Satan for time and eternity!

All God's people said Glory, Glory, Hallelujah He reigns!

Living like it's Easter in a Good Friday world

Don't misunderstand me, Good Friday was part of God's plan. But, what happened on Good Friday demonstrates the sinful world we live in. We crucified the of God!

On Good Friday, His followers went away scared, defeated, and depressed. But on Easter Sunday - they were revived, refreshed and renewed!

True believers live in the power of the Resurrection and the Life...Jesus. We are more than conquerers through Christ. When the battles and strife of life are raging - He gives us the victory, daily.

Don't live your life defeated, deflated and depressed...experience the life giving, resurrection power of Jesus.

I love you Lord!
and I lift my voice
to worship you
oh my soul, rejoice

Take joy my King
in what you hear
may it be a sweet, sweet sound
in Your ear!

I stopped in Chattanooga on my way to Atlanta and had lunch with Katrina (aka Devoted of God). It has been a pleasure when I've had the opportunity to meet someone from BC in person...and this was no exception.

Katrina has a sweet spirit and is a sweet person...and she wasn't even upset that I was running late!

She is involved in a wonderful ministry and I hope she shares about it in blogland sometime! (subtle hint)
