Large posts can have a habit of being a bit jumbled. I hope this is not the case. I pray this may bless and edify.
This can be used as a Bible Study though it's by no means complete, do your own study as well and remember to always consider the source as there's a lot of 'junk' online as we are all well aware. To deny the Trinity is to deny the very nature of God Himself.
2 John 1.7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Let Jesus do the talking through His Word and let the Holy Spirit convict, then ask, "What do the verses mean?"
There is the constant theme of the Angel being with Israel, it's Jesus if we look at the verses.
Trinity Verses in the O.T.
Gen 3:8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
Is the voice of God the Word of God; Jesus?
Gen 16.7-14 And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, 10 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. 11 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with and shalt bear a , and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction. 12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. 13 And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
It is the Angel who will multiply 'thy seed exceedingly' He can only be God. He also prophesies a multitude and a , Ishmael.
Gen 31:13 I am the God of Bethel
Gen 35.1 And God (Elohim) said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God,(El) that appeared unto thee
The Godhead said make an altar unto the angel who appeared to him; Jesus! He did not say, "Make an altar unto Me."
Gen 35.7 Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, Who was that God? The Angel, Jesus; a Christophany.
Gen 35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply ..... Speaking to Jacob.
Gen 48:15-16 The Angel which redeemed me It is God alone who can redeem.
Ex 14:19-20 And the angel of God, which went before .... the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
Ex 23:20-21 I send an Angel before thee, my name is in him. This Angel (Jesus) condemns for sin, only God can judge sin.
Ex 24:9-11 Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: 10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet ... 11 also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
Humans saw God; they ate and drank with Him. He came close to man, became personal.
Ex 33:2 And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite .... V14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
The angel is the presence of God Himself.
V15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
Num 20:16 and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: Who brought out of Egypt an Angel? God; there is one God: (Deut 6:4, Isa 44:6, 24)
Judges 13:3-24 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a . 4 Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: 5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a ; and no razor shall come on his head: for the shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. 6 Then the woman came and told her husband.... and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day. 17 And Manoah said unto the angel of the Lord, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour? 18 And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret? (Some translations say 'Wonderful'; The Hebrews often named their , by their character. Pre-named for Jesus; Isaiah 9:6) 19 So Manoah took a with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the Lord: and the angel did wonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on. 20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. 21 But the angel of the Lord did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the Lord. 22 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
He became part of the sacrifice and went up in the flame.
Ps 82:8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
How can God inherit anything? He already possesses the nations. The Father who owns everything is saying He will give all to the in the future, probably as a reward for His sufferings and the other reward is, "For the joy set before Him he faced the cross." (Heb 12:2). That's His church. Jesus inherits us, we are co-heirs in His inheritance (Rom 8:17).
Isa 9:6 For unto us a is born, unto us a is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The Counsellor is the Holy Spirit, also called Comforter in other translations Isaiah declares the Lord is their Saviour before Jesus became incarnate.
Isa 43:10 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
Who is talking? Jesus. V11 I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. (One God)
Isa 44:6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (First and the last also, Isa 41:4, Isa 48:12. Rev 22:13, Rev 1:11, Rev 1:17)
Isaiah 44:24 - Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
Isa 48:16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
Again who is speaking? Jesus. This is not 3 'modes' but 3 separate persons.
Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Isa 63.7-9 so he was their Saviour. the angel of his presence saved them: he redeemed them; vexed his holy Spirit: he fought against them. V14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the Lord caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people,
Isa 33:10 Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
Isa 52:13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
God is the High and exalted One, here 'His Servant' is exalted, extolled and very high, this can only be Jesus as God Himself.
Isa 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Isa 63.7-10 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord,: so he was their Saviour. 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. 10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. 11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him? V14 the Spirit of the Lord caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, V16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
Isaiah declares before Jesus' birth that the Lord was their Saviour, Redeemer and His Holy Spirit was being 'vexed.' Only a person can be vexed and because of this vexing He (God) became their enemy. In V14, the Spirit of the Lord caused him to rest, He led the people, this can only be a Person. A spirit is a being; the Holy Spirit is a Holy Being.
Dan 5:11-12* There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers; 12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation. V14 I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.
They realised there was a Spirit of God in Daniel as he knew things no man could know, his knowledge was supernatural but as they were pagans they thought there was more than one god. So we can see the Trinity here. It's interesting it says twice the 'spirit of the gods' - singular, not 'spirits' plural, nor 'spirit of a god'.
Dan 7:9-10* I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
The Ancient of Days is God the Father.
V13-14 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Jesus, of Man, has dominion over all nations (Rev 7:9, 13.7, 15:4 also Psalm 82:8, Psalm 86:9, Psalm 96:1 etc.)
Zech 3:3-4 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. Only God can take away iniquity.
Zech 12:1-10 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. 3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. 4 In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every of the people with blindness. 5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God. 6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. 7 The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah. 8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only , and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. 11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. 12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; 13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart; 14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
All the way through, I, Lord, I, Lord. You can ask a Jewish person, "When was and how was Yahweh pierced?" (The Trinity is 3 distinct Personal expressions of One God, separate yet One in His intrinsic divine essence/nature)
Joshua stands before an Angel, this Angel takes away sin, only God can do that an angel cannot. Then He gives Joshua a change of clothes from filthy garments (filthy rags, Isa 64:6. Similar theme in Phil 3. 8 )
Hosea 12:2-5 The Lord hath also a controversy with Judah, he had power with God: 4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us; 5 Even the Lord God of hosts; the Lord is his memorial.
Trinity Verses N.T. referring to O.T.
1 Cor 10:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Who was in the cloud leading Israel? God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Who is the Rock? Christ. Who punished them for their sin over and over again? Moses struck the Rock instead of speaking to it; a symbol of Christ (as also was the mana and the serpent on a pole) and was forbidden to enter into the Promised Land.
1 Cor 10:9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. (Num 21:6)
Heb 11:24-27 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the of Pharaoh's ; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Jude 4-5 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

The is God: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
The Holy Spirit is God: Acts 5:3-4 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
Heb 3.7-11 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

He that honoureth not the honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Note: Ps 89:20-27 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: 21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. 22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the of wickedness afflict him. 23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. 24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted. 25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. 26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. 27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
The firstborn had a double inheritance. (Deut 21:17). David here is called 'firstborn' which means in status. He is to rule under Jesus in the Millennium, his status is higher than any other human king. He was not firstborn in family as he was the youngest. Non-Trinitarian cults will try to prove this is a natural birth statement when it's a status statement as this verse in Ps 89 shows. We know Jesus was pre-existent before He became a Man, God incarnate. So Jesus and David are called 'Firstborn' in Scripture, a picture of headship status in the ruling of Israel during the Millennium.
Summary: As Christians we are told by God through His Word who He is. We have no option but to believe a Oneness in His Triune essence: He's a Triune Godhead even though the word Trinity itself is not in the Bible; each Member intrinsically God. He is too big to comprehend so we must accept His explanation of Himself.
A Scottish preacher once said, "To understand the Trinity you'll lose your mind, to reject the Trinity you'll lose your soul."
The Spirit of Jesus is the Spirit of the Father is the Holy Spirit, "Holy, Holy, Holy", is the thrice Holy God. (Rev 4. 8 ).
