Upon the horizon the dark clouds began to roll slowly into sight. They were intense with sinister energy, waiting to be released upon the earth. Below little played in the park and fathers and mothers watched peacefully on as the laughed and froliced in the daylight. Little did they know that the storm was comming.Once in a while, however, a would look up and question the darkness slowly moving across the sky, but when curiosity was satiated by the common sence of the earth, then the thought of dark clouds was pushed into the background. Laughter filled the park, songs, and jubulation, for it was really a pleasant day after all.No one wanted to look way over towards the sinister clouds inching their way ever so slowly but surely towards the park.Who would want the pleasure of this moment to pass with thoughts of evil and deadly devises on such a beautiful day? No, we will play and enjoy ourselves for it has always been this way since the beginning. The sounds of gaiety rang out from the park. The roses were in bloom and the sweet melody of robins resounded through the trees; still those dark clouds pushed forward. But no one really noticed.
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.Mathew 24:33-42

The one I love

I looked into her deep brown eyes filled with pain and dispair and immediately I saw the one I love caressing her cheek with tender mercy. I was ashamned at the repulsion I felt at the filth and grime of her shadow but my heart moved with compassion for the one I love was quickened to act. I reached into my purse and took out the coins I had saved for my weekly coffee and put them into her hand. She smiled shyly when I told her about the one I love. I walked deeper into the darkness of her dispair and I felt the one I love cry out with empathy. The girl touched by his gentleness began to cry tears of grief that flowed into forgiveness and she ran into the arms of the one I love. I rejoiced as the light streamed in with brilliant revelation and the girl was transformed right before my eyes into a beautiful creature, radiant and altogether lovely. She reflected the image of the one I love. I could hear the sound of voices singing in exaultation in the heavenlies and I knew that the one I love was pleased. The touch of his hand upon my soul turned my mourning into dancing,my grief into joy, for eternity was all that really mattered. He is more than sufficent, the one I love.More than I could hope or ask for, exceedingly more than I could even imagine. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:35-40

"Lord,if the lust of the eyes, leads to sin,how can a Christian in this day's society, keep themselves when all around us are billboards of unhealthy food, sexual explotive images, and consummer frenzy posters?" I waited patiently for that familiar still small voice in my spirit. "At the beginning of man's existence in the garden of Eden there was the tree of the knowlege of good and evil situated right in the middle of the garden,"the Lord responed to my meditation,"and every day Adam and Eve had to walk by that tree.Every day they had to make a decision. To obey my voice and abstain from partaking of that forbidden fruit or disobey my voice and pay the deady price which sin brings.Likewise,my ,you must everyday make those choices." "What happens if like Adam and Eve I fail and make a wrong choice?" I asked. "My love for you is greater than my disappointment at your failure." the Lord assured me. " For just like I provided for the sin of Adam and Eve so likewise through the blood of my sacrifice will I provide forgiveness and restoration to you. However, remember that the sting of sin is death. There is always repercussions for disobedience and even though I can redeem all sin the sting will remain." "How can I stay faithful when sin is all about me? Sometimes I feel like Lot in Sodom!" I cried wanting desperatly to have the victory. "I will always be faithful to save you from all the enemies' devices whenever you call upon me for help,.I will never leave you without an avenue of escape." "Thanks Lord," I smiled "I will remember that."
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.I Corinthians 10:13

" Lord, give me your grace today." I cried with frustration. "The toddlers raided the fridge again.Apples and oranges are all over my floor. They are using them as balls!" " Do you remember my ," the Lord smiled knowingly at me,"when you first came to me and I accepted you as you were.Faults and all?" "Yes,lord." I replied " I love them really I do but...it is just that they drive me crazy with the constant mess they make." "Mess,is a part of their learning experience." Jesus told me. "Every time you correct your grandchildren they learn proper behavior." "Yes,Lord,I know.Help me to be more patient." I felt the presence of his Spirit gently caress my heart and he said "Patience is the fruit of my Spirit and my Spirit dwells within you and will quicken your mortal frame to walk in my Spirit that dwells within you.All you need to do is ask.I am always available for you." "Thanks Lord,I know that I can do all things in you."
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father. I Thesselonians 1:3

The Alabaster Box

The essence of beauty contained in the delicately carved container, trembled in my shaking hands as I moved towards him. He smiled so sweetly that I thought my heart would beat right out of my chest. The veil I was wearing fell softly down my sholder as I knelt at his feet while the frowns behind me bore into my back like a sharp blade. I removed his sandals with my still trembling hands, ever concious of the scorn that surrounded me. But when I looked up into his beautiful face all the murmurs fell silent in the warmth of his love. "Master" I whispered He continued to gaze deeply into my eyes, seeming to look into my very soul as I opened the alabaster box." I give you my life.Though it cost me all I have, for you alone are worthy." The costly aromatic ointment filled the room and the scorn turned suddenly to shame. I poured my spikenard gift upon his feet and wept.Possessing no other treasure but my very self, I gave him all that I had. The whole of my being I surrendered to sit in the presence of his magesty. At his feet, serving him, loving him, giving to him. The voices of men were drowned out in the glory of his beauty and I did not need their approval. It was only him that mattered. Only his love I wanted, desired, cried out for. He smiled at me once again and I knew my past did not exist any more. I was washed in his forgiveness and the alabaster box, empty in my hands, bore witnesss.
"So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:33

In the Quiet stillness,in the secret place. Within his bossom and wraped in the pinnions of his love, I am content, secure, elated. His arms hold me in a gentle embrase.Close and tender. My heart beats faster as the dew from his brow falls sweetly upon my life. My beloved fills the empty place, his fragrance is as sweet as incense and his love is divine. When my tears fall and I remember the pain,he is there, filling me with his presence and his countenance gives me peace. My beloved, fairer than any angel,as bright as the morning star,as graceful as a doe;his love is perfect, without blemmish, pure. Upon the high places we mount on eagles wings and I am raptured in his love.Caressed by his faithful hand, filled with his power and might. How glorious is my darling, how beautiful among all the sons of men.He shines forth as a warrior in battle and rides the chariots of grace. I am deeply moved by his sweetness,as delightful as the honeycomb. My beloved,my treasure,my pearl. How I adore you.
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.S.of S.2:4

"Wow, what a beautiful sunny day today!Only one problem....I have to go to work.Stuck in a room without windows. My class has no windows Lord !" I cried. I heard that still small voice whisper ever so gently into my spirit. "In the sweet by and by. We shall meet on that beautiful shore." "Lord?" I was puzzled. "Set your mind on heavenly things and not on things of the earth."the Lord replied. "What has this to do with no window in my classroom?" still puzzled I asked. "When life does not turn out the way you would like it to my ,remember that this life is only temporary but your life at the end of this one is eternal."
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. "Rain, again Lord." I sighed, looking out my kitchen window. "Sometimes this dreary lower mainland just gets to me." "Rain is necessary,my ." the Lord smiled. "It helps the earth grow. All my beautiful creation need to be watered and refreshed." "You mean like when you refresh me with your presence?" "Yes,and don't you feel stronger, more vitalized, and alive?" "Yes,Lord, but I could sure use some sunshine." "Be patient." the Lord's love embraced my heart. "Summer will be here soon." "Yes,and then we will be baking like a bunch of clams!"I frowned once more. Patiently and lovingly as always, the Lord spoke gently to my heart,"The secret to being happy in every situation is to remain content my ." "How can I do that?" I cried with frustration. "By remembering that no matter what the situation,I am always with you.Going through every trial, affliction, joyous time and sorrow right by your side." "Thanks lord. You really are my reason for living."
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5

Its Easter and I am supposed to be in quiet time before the Lord.Sitting at his feet, learning from him, recieving instruction in righteousness. "But, I am busy lord. The are fighting, the dishes are piled high, and the TV is blasting cartoons." Gently he speaks to my heart, ", heaven is busy. My are playing, making lots of noise, I might add,and the angels' trumpets are blasting.Real noisy up here." "We are together aren't we Lord? " I cried. "Yes,we are together." the Lord smiled.
"But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." I Cor.6:17
