In search of Oneness

We could be more than we are.

Is finding the truth a matter of being right?

Almost from the time we were born we have been rewarded by having the right answers. I wonder if this gets in the way of objectivity. We are always so convinced we are right that any concept contrary to our own thoughts must be wrong. But how does that really work when two people have opposing views.

For centuries churches have had the same struggles and debate over church doctrine. All sides are convinced that they possess the truth. Wouldn't a different approach be better. How can someone who has studied just as hard as myself, just as devoted to God, and just as convinced of what he beleives as I am of my own beliefs be as wrong as I think he is... or could it be something else altogether?

Could all those doctrines actually get in our way of understanding and living according to the word of God?

Do you think part of it is yielding to the spirit which allows us to override the battle with the flesh.

Or by always letting our intention to be one of kindness and love; never to harm, hurt, or retaliate.

Or how about bringing our thoughts into obedience of Christ?

Yet even with such thought do we attain a higher level. Perhaps the real key is humility. When we no longer judge anyone beneath ourselves or ourselves above any other. And maybe to see that there is no them. Even those who are lost, the only difference between us and them is the grace of God.

What do you think?

For years the prayer of Jesus revolves in my mind when He prayed that we would be one as He and the Father are one, that we might be one in them.

That in equation form it might look something like this... 1()+1(Father)+1(Spirit)=1 God; 1(you)+1(me)+1(everyone esles)=1 functional unified body of one; so that 1 Godhead+1 unified assemble bonded together in peace, love, and the Holy spirit = Total Oneness and completeness in God.
Then, as Jesus prayed, that this would testify to the world that the father has truly sent the .

But the thought to ponder over is: can we ever truly be one with God unless we first really understand the nature and function of what it is to be one together? Would we ever understand how the the and the Father exist in such a state and enter into that state with them unless we too functioned together at that level of understanding.

What was God's plan for humanity before the fall?

Sure God has always desired fellowship with us and to love us and for us to love Him, but what was the purpose or high calling of humanity? Even after the fall did that change forever or is there still a greater purpose for our creation? Perhaps to be stewards of the world and each other. Maybe it also would have to involve unity and working together to achieve the good that God desires to be done?

We focus a lot on salvation, yet do we really understand what God wants us to do after we are saved? Do you think it s more to save others?

Is it our values that hold us back?
Not that we don't need values but maybe those values must evolve if we are ever going to evolve to a higher level of mutual understanding and achieve unity.
