You know, I ran across an old box of letters;
I was bagging up some clothes for GoodWill.
When I read them, I had to laugh about the same old struggles that plagued me then are plaguing me still.
But, I know the road is long from the ground to glory, but a boy can hope he's getting someplace.
You see, I'm running from the very clothes I'm wearing; and dressed like this, I'm fit for the chase.
Because no, there is none righteous, not one who understands.
There is none who seek God, no not one.
So, I am thankful, that I'm incapable of doing any good on my own.
We're all stillborn, and dead in our transgressions, we're shackled up in sin we hold so dear.
So, what part can I play in the work of redemption?
I can't refuse, I cannot hide a thing.
'Cause I am just like Lot, and I can hear your voice.
I stand and rub my eyes and walk to you, because I have no choice.
This faith that I aspire to, is given by the host.
It is a gift of God and not by works, lest any one should boast.

Ooops, got caught listening to my Caedman's Call CD again.

Had to climb the rocks to see the mountain view.

Matthew 22:2-10
The Kingdom of heaven may be compared to a King who gave a wedding banquet for his .
He sent his slaves out to call those who were invited to the wedding banquet, but they would not come.
Again he sent other slaves, saying, "Tell those who have been invited: Look, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready; come to the wedding banquet."
But they made light of it and went away, one to his farm, another to his business, while the rest seized his slaves, mistreated them, and killed them.
The King was enraged. He sent his troops to destroy those murderers, and burn their city.
Then he said to his slaves, "The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go, therefore into the main streets, and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.
Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both good and bad; so the wedding hall was filled with guests.

Luke 14:16-24
Then Jesus said to him, "Someone gave a great dinner and invited many.
At the time for the dinner he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is ready now.'
But they all alike began to make excuses.
The first one said to him, 'I have bought a piece of land, and I must go see it; please accept my apologies.'
Another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out; please accept my regrets.'
Another said, 'I have just been married, and therefore cannot come.'
So the slave returned and reported this to his master.
Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his slave, 'Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.'
And the slave said, 'Sir, what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.'
Then the master said to the slave,"Go out into the roads and lanes, and compel people to come in, so that my house may be filled.
For I tell you, none of those who were invited will taste my dinner.

WHAT THIS PARABLE MEANS TO ME...,

All the greatest among us were invited first, but they won't come. So the King has told his servant to go into the outermost places and invite the ones who were not first invited.

Those who were not invited first are invited now.

And so the last shall be first and the least the greatest.

Could this be a parable about the proclamation of the miraculous conversion and inclusion of the heathen into the Kingdom?

The following link will take you to an earlier study of the Sign of Jonah.

It was mentioned by Jesus as the only sign to be given this generation to signal the end of the age.

I hope it blesses you greatly and please feel free to post your comments and / or additional information.

The following link below will take you to a study we did on the Seven Churches of Revelation.

It started out with a recap of the words in the above referenced book of the Bible;
followed by research of the significance of the terms;
and ended with an awesome addition by Sista' Barb - who, if I must say so myself, posted a perfect completion to the project!

Hope you will feel welcome to view it and add a post if you like.

Thank ALL of you for your prayers.
The electric outages and damage occured in a lot of areas from Galveston, on up into Houston, but my neighborhood was not touched.
We had minor rain, a few strong winds and some debris, but we are all okay.
Let's not forget to Thank God, too.
He's the WEATHERMAN!

Did You ever know that You are faithful, thoughtful?
Did You ever know that You are everything that I need?
Everyone needs to have that,
someone to listen, laugh with, company...,
Did You know that You are this to me?
Did You know that You are this to me:
You are awefully inviting,
You are everything I hope to be.
You are Who I lean on, cry with.., talk to.
Just like the birds take to air...,
You take me there, safe and secure.
That's what You did for my heart,
right from the start.
Did You know that You are all this to me?
Did You ever know that You're not just my hero?
You have always been there and always will be.
Since the moment we met,
Your love won't forget.
Did You know You are this to me?

I was lost without a purpose,
You offered me a mansion
for my pocket full of gold.
More than just some riches,
You came and rescued me...,
Now, I'll always love You, with all of my heart.
Because I know You loved me right from the start.
You made me a promise to never part,
That's why I love You with all of my heart.

Undying love that You've given to me, showing me things I could never have seen.
I don't understand how You could care so much, time and time again I ask myself,
"what have I done to deserve such wealth."
The price you paid;
I could never repay Your generosity.
In order to save me, in order to save the day, It's truly beyond me, I am left without a word to say.
What kind of love would place itself in harms way?
When I was down, You came and lifted me;
when I was bound You came and set me free.
Things that You do makes it so clear to see
You have a masterplan.
No greater love have I come to know,
and when I refuse You still love me so.
With open arms You came and rescued me and erased all the pain.
What kind of love seems to be so easy?
I hurt sometimes, but You never let go and will to love in spite of it all.
I am left without a word to say.
