WOMAN'S "Prayer":
Before I lay me down to sleep, I pray for a man who's not a creep, one who's handsome, smart and strong. One who loves to listen long, one who thinks before he speaks, one who'll call, not wait for weeks. I pray he's rich and self-employed, and when I spend, won't be annoyed. Pull out my chair and hold my hand. massage my feet and help me stand. Oh send a king to make me queen. A man who loves to cook and clean. I pray this man will love no other, and relish visits with my mother.
MAN'S "Prayer":
I pray for a deaf-mute gymnast nymphomaniac with big boobs who owns a bar on a golf course, and loves to send me fishing and drinking. This doesn't rhyme and I don't give a crap.

Ever meet someone on the blogs or through emails and find yourself mentally attracted?
It's happened to me. Not here on BC, but on another site.
He lived in The Netherlands (Dutch!) and spoke English very, very well. He wrote music and poetry. He was very 'deep'. He became attracted to me and I found it flattering that someone (younger) and romantic would want me.
We became romantic over the miles - spoke on the phone over the computer for several months till finally he got here. About six weeks before he arrived he asked me to marry him. !!! Like an idiot, I said yes. Two weeks before he arrived, I expressed my worry to him that there's be no 'chemistry' between us.
Guess what? I knew within moments of picking him up at the airport that it would never be.
Just what is that thing we call 'chemistry' all about?

Where to Bury Her

A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her shipped home for $5000, or you can bury her here, in the Holy Land, for $150." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5000 to ship your wife home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only $150?"
The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."

HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT?

You have to try this, it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this! It is from an orthopedic surgeon...this will confuse your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't. It is pre-programmed in your brain!
1.While sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand.
Your foot will change direction.
I told you so! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

We believe in one God, The Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible; And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten of God, begotten from the Father before all ages, light from light, true God from True God, begotten not made, of one substance with the Father. By Him all things were made. For us men and our salvation He came down from heaven, was made flesh from the Holy Spirit and Mary the virgin and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried. He rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven. He sits on the right hand of the Father and will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His Kingdom will never end;
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and life-giver, who proceeds from the Father. Together with the Father and the He is worshiped and glorified. He spoke through the prophets;
And in one holy catholic* and apostolic church. We confess one baptism for the remission of sins. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come. AMEN
(* NOTE: use of the word ‘catholic’ here does not refer to a particular denomination. It simply means ‘universal’. In this creed it refers to the fact that in God’s eyes all who affirm what is stated in this creed belong to one Christian church, regardless of race, denomination or sect.)

Make sure you bring something to share!
I'm making a steak - ribeye, medium rare. I thought I'd share my favorite steak rub from one of my favorite Food Network chefs, Anne Burrell.
3 T kosher salt 2 T brown sugar 1 t pulverized red pepper flakes 2 t smoked paprika 1 t garlic powder
This is enough for 4 steaks. I usually make up a LOT of this at once.
Anne suggests that you rub the steaks generously and then wrap them up in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a minimum of 24 hours. Two-three days are better. Right before you cook them, remove the plastic (duh) and oil the steaks with EVOO. Use a very hot grill to char both sides, then move to a less hot area of the grill (or lower the heat if using a gas burner instead of charcoal) and finish cooking to desired degree of doneness.
This is good, folks!

My best friend called (he's my ex!) and we are taking a cooler and heading out to the beach to eat supper and look out over the water, watching the boats and shooing away the gulls that beg.
This is a photo of Seaside Park, in Bridgeport, CT - where I'm headed! Pretty, huh?

Another Set of Eyes

"He who sees even the most of this world has but the same sort of eyes that birds and beasts have -- but he who knows his Bible to be true and who realizes the truth of it in his soul -- has another set of eyes that can peer into another realm altogether. He sees spiritual things and around him there shines a Light which is, indeed, marvelous!" ~ Charles Spurgeon

#1 - LOVE one another

I totally agree that the 'tolerance lie' that's infiltrated the church has got to be a horrible affront to God and I hate it as much as anyone. What I take a stand against is that once a person in a cult has been 'warned', that it's time to let the Holy Spirit deal with that person, rather then get into dissention and arguements and outburts of anger. Continued bickering does nothing to further the kingdom and is against what I believe to be God's number one command to the Church - Love One Another.
And this is my final comment on the subject. I will not defend Love.
