Things Jesus taught.....

Jesus taught that He was God incarnate.

Jesus taught that in the Last Days false prophets would arise and deceive many.

Jesus taught that spirit is more important than flesh.

Jesus taught that one who hates has already committed murder in his heart.

Jesus taught that we could accomplish a great mission by doing little things.

Jesus taught that we should do to others what we would like them to do to us.

Jesus taught that man is the light of God.

Jesus taught that his disciples are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Jesus taught that sin is that which corrupts the very soul of man.

Jesus taught that a show of religiosity can't purify the heart.

Jesus taught that the tares and the wheat must grow together.

Jesus taught that he is the servant and messenger of that one true God.

Jesus taught that a man creates the standard by which he will be judged.

Jesus taught that "all men should honor the , even as they honor the Father."

Jesus taught that the Kingdom is for everyone but that each person must choose to work for the Kingdom.

Why do we need to confess our sins if they have already been forgiven?

My understanding of confession, repentance and forgiveness ~~~~

I am going to compare this to a father relationship. If you do something wrong to your father or fall short of his expectations or rules you have a hindered relationship, but you are still a . That fellowship is hindered until you admit to your father that you have done wrong. It works the same way with God; your fellowship with Him is hindered until you confess that sin. Then the fellowship is restored.

In our position as members of the Body of Christ, we have been forgiven of every sin we have ever committed or ever will commit. The price paid by Christ on the cross and no further sacrifice or payment is necessary. When Jesus said, "It is finished," he meant it.

Confession of sin, according to 1 John 1:9, will help to keep us from the discipline of the Lord. If we fail to confess that sin, the discipline of the Lord is sure to come until we do confess it.

As stated previously, our sins are forgiven at salvation, but our fellowship with God on a daily basis needs to stay in good standing, which cannot happen with unconfessed sin in our lives.

Therefore, we need to confess our sins as they occur in order to keep that right fellowship with God.

How do you define works?

Is salvation by faith alone, or by faith plus works? Am I saved just by believing in Jesus, or do I have to believe in Jesus and do certain things? Let's look at Paul and James for further discuss.

The question of faith alone or faith plus works is made difficult by some hard-to-reconcile Bible passages. Compare Romans 3:28, 5:1 and Galatians 3:24 with James 2:24.

Some see a difference between Paul (salvation is by faith alone) and James (salvation is by faith plus works). In reality, Paul and James did not disagree at all. The only point of disagreement some people claim is over the relationship between faith and works.

Paul dogmatically says that justification is by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) while James appears to be saying that justification is by faith plus works. This apparent problem is answered by examining what exactly James is talking about. James is refuting the belief that a person can have faith without producing any good works (James 2:17-1.

James is emphasizing the point that genuine faith in Christ will produce a changed life and good works (James 2:20-26). James is not saying that justification is by faith plus works, but rather that a person who is truly justified by faith will have good works in his life. If a person claims to be a believer, but has no good works in his life ‒ then he likely does not have genuine faith in Christ (James 2:14, 17, 20, 26).

Have you ever felt guilty after doing something that you knew in your heart that you should not be doing? Does your life show the fruits of the spirit? Do you have faith and believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins? Love and showing the fruits of the spirit is the visual evidence which makes Christians stand out as lights to the fallen world. Some call this works, I suppose. I believe it's one in the same. When you speak of works, what exactly are you referring to? Following the ten commandments? Doing charity functions for your community? Church? Attending Church regularly? Tithing? Just curious. The Bible says that if I break even one of these commandments then I have broken all of them. Does that mean I am not going to be saved because I did not follow the straight and narrow perfectly? The greatest of all these commandments of the law is to love the Lord with all your heart soul and mind. Love your neighbor as your self. On these two commandments the whole law hangs and the prophets. I think this is pretty clear.

You met a wonderful woman on the blogs. What in the world is going on. You can say it is not our business, but it is... Consider the commitments you made to bring her into this country. Consider the kind of man you are and have professed to be. Just consider. One time you made a comment that I was like Hitler, which I forgave you for. Am I really? I don't think so. Time passes as do the blogs, but know that many on this blog respect you as well for being who you are. Think on these things, will you our friend...Mia is one you once committed too. Is commitment really that shallow in your eyes.... I don't think so...pray on these things perhaps for a few days.

How is your witness?

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to be very concerned about the way our words, our appearances, our demeanors, our actions represent…Him. I believe that we do have an impact on brothers and sisters in Christ as well as people who have fallen away from faith or have never believed or from other faiths.

Love for the Lord and for others can be visible in many others ways too, not just witnessing in words. Acts of compassion, honesty, caring and serving, joy in worshiping, sympathy cards and many other ways.

I will be the first to admit that my own witness is not always the best. And when I fall short, I seek forgiveness and understanding. I do not feel that I will be held accountable for not preaching the gospel to everyone I meet on the street, but I am to love my neighbor as my self to all that cross my path.

You see something often gets in the way of loving others as Christ would have me love them ‒ me. And the times that I have loved the way Christ would have me love others ‒ I can’t take any credit for it. It was all Him.

Returning good for evil - rental saga - any suggestions?

I have a cat-itude!

Thanks for all of the helpful advice. I have reworked my budget to make room for his extra $100. by spreading out my car insurance payments over 6 months instead of 4 and lowering my food budget by $50 a month that he is going to demand on the 1st of the month; however, I will be continuing to look for another place within my desired budget.

I have always owned a home so this is only the second time I have had to deal with rental situations. The last place I rented was a beautiful town home on a lake. This home is at least in a good neighborhood and even though there is allot wrong with it, I'll survive. $800. a month is getting kinda steep when the stove doesn't work, the roof leaks and the shower doesn't work. Moving is so difficult and that is the dreaded part. At least I am on the bus route so my can take the city bus to school. This takes a load off of me time wise. There is not much free time trying to hold down two jobs. I know that God will open the doors and I ask everyone to continue to pray that my landlord will find a soft spot in his heart to not have the character of a slum lord.

He needs a God moment and needs lots of prayer cause he doesn't act like he has good morals, ethics and values or for that matter a Christian conscience. Please continue to bless him with your prayers as I will until the situation gets better. When he cursed at me earlier this week, I did not react in a negative way, but I surely didn't like it either. It appears that he doesn't respect women either.

Now, what ways can you all suggest to return good for evil so perhaps his character may change and he can get a glimpse of Jesus?

Going through this rental delima has surely been a test of faith. The roadway is not clear yet. I have been called a "b...." in which I replied by waving at the landlord and saying nothing, thus implying for him to promptly leave the home I pay rent on. I guess he is beligerantly trying as he dropped off an old stove one foot in front of my front foyer door. I am glad that I am small and can squeeze through. hahahahahahah A stove that will not even fit into the space of the old non working stove. I guess that is his way of saying he is trying after 2 months of complaining.

I Corinthians 13:12 says, “Now we see but a poor reflection, as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am known.” As long as we see only part of the picture, we will tend to fill in the gaps with our own idea of what the whole picture should look like–and that will inevitably lead to disagreement.

How can you promote unity, even when you don’t see things the same way? How can you build an attitude of servanthood in your life and in the lives of those you influence? Is this God's sense of humor? To test me....to make me more dependant on him? I thought I was doing pretty good, but apparently not. Care to share some of your ideas below!

Is it right for a Christian to let people walk all over you? Please explain in detail why you feel as you do and give examples? I look to the bible and see that Paul allowed people to walk all over him, but I just don't feel that this should be taken so literally. What do you think?

* When you have something important to decide, you're more likely to just go with your gut than analyze it closely.

* You prefer the exciting over the practical.

* When it comes to evaluating people, you rely on your gut feelings.

* You can easily sense other people's emotions.

* If your intuition is telling you something strange, you tend to listen to it - even if people think you're crazy.

* You get "sympathy pains" for friends or family members that are hurt or sick.

* You've had dreams that come true.

* Sometimes you feel uneasy right before something bad happens.

* It's hard for people to convince you of things. You have to decide for yourself.

* You rather be told what needs to be done ... not how to do it.

* For you, it's not what someone says - it's how they say it.

* Often you can tell when good news is coming your way.

* You can tell when a friend needs your help, even if you don't know what's wrong.

* You've sometimes thought of a certain song, only to hear it play next on the radio.

* You can usually guess how a movie will end.
