My rotator cuff surgery is booked for the 29th of July. I'm by no means ready! So much to be done here that I have not had much time for anything but the acreage. I had supper with my younger who celebrated his 20th birthday Tuesday.
Although I have not had time to visit the blogs I do keep you all in my prayers.

Please pray for Gordon who died recently

I was amazed today to go to the church I was at some months ago, seeking to find the quadraplegic man I wrote about some time ago-- and only to find that he has passed away. I had promised to build him a crib table to sit over his wheelchair, taken a sample of the wood he wanted and the outline for the cribbage pattern. I had told Gordon that I would not be able to make the table right away but that I would do it as soon as things settled down for me. Of course I have been so busy working and getting ready for my surgery that I had simply not had the time to build it for him.
Well today I asked where Gordon was and the pastor told me he recently passed away. I met with his wife Peggy and she cried on my shoulder telling me how it all happened.
Please pray for her and the family in this great loss. I ask also for prayers for this wonderful man who had so much talent and so much love for others. May he be truly blessed with the Lord at his side.

I have almost a month to wait prior to my big rotator cuff surgery. I have been trying to get as much work as possible but with the arms it has been next to impossible.
I can only depend upon the goodness of the Lord at this point as I have no idea what I will do beyond the surgery. I'm told that it will take about eight months before I can get back to normal work and the first 6 weeks will be brutal as I am on my own with no help etc. So send forth those wonderful prayers!
I've been electrified to write my feelings on a whole range of topics... Afghanistan, Obama, Clinton, Global Warming, the list goes on and on.
But lately I have been doing much soul searching about the whole issue of posting one's feelings on this site. I think a lot of people come here to dispell the loneliness as I have-- and yes to find a mate. But the amount of bickering that goes on here is simply time wasting nothingness that could be better spent in prayer of giving alms.
This last week I helped out a single mom from the church (Alliance). I did some very basic plumbing and some simple carpentry. I didn't charge her and kicked in my own money for the parts. Frankly, I'd much rather soak up my time doing small favours like that than arguing the merits and demerits of this political course or that-- on this site. We all have our viewpoints,,, we just need to LOVE EACH OTHER as Jesus the Christian commanded us. He left his Jewishness behind him and gave us a different commandment than the law of talion where we seek revenge. And I know... we can get into a whole new arguement on that one too........
I'm horrified that the psychologist James Dobson for whom I had a lot of respect is attacking Obama. Dobson also said some years ago that Muslims cannot know what love is because they are not Christians.... yikes.. all this and a psychologist. I have to tell him to give his head a shake.
Well........ back to work. I suppose I've already stirred some commotion!

Tomorrow I go for my pre operation orientation. My surgery has been postponed until July 29th.
Thank you for all your prayers. The tough part will be convalescing and it could be several months before I can do very much with the rotator cuff arm.
Your prayers have meant a lot to me and I do thank you for them.

Why no dream woman?

My surgery has been postponed until the end of July.. so trying to make some money before I am a one armed bandit for a long time!
Am I like the majority on this site searching in vain for my dream woman? It has not happened in the length of time I have been here. Sadly.. I really have not met anyone from this site. Is it all because of distance? Arrrrrrrrrrrr perhaps my prayers have not yet been answered.
There are so many things I would like to write about but this time of year I have no time...
There are so many blogs I would love to read but once again, no time.
And so many good friends on here I would like to contact but once again, no time.
Ohhh dear Lord, help me in all my trials and send some smiles to all the great people on here.

Why I'm leaving Big Church

I've been very busy lately trying to make some money doing handyman work prior to my upcoming surgery on my rotator cuff.
But I have been seriously thinking of leaving this site for other reasons than that.
Why? Well for one thing I am not meeting anyone on this site. I really have not "connected" with anyone-- for better or worse, richer or poorer.
Another thing... well the ideological differences here are enormous. It's truly amazing how I have lasted this long as it is. I am poles apart from the vast majority of people on this site and my blog demonstrably shows that. AMerica is a land of war preparation. It is armed to the teeth and depends on conflict for its very survival. The real fact is that America has a huge arms manufacturing sector in its economy and desperately needs to keep this going as jobs are dependent on it--- likewise the Pentagon. I find it so sad. SImilarly the small arms are also a big seller around the world and hardly anyone is opposed to this. So many drive by shootings in our own country and it is now taken for granted that people own guns. Where on earth is this world headed with so much weaponry" It scares the daylights out of me.
THe one thing that has kept me here are all the beautiful women---- and yes they certainly are beautiful. I dare not mention names for sure but you all know who you are you gorgeous women! I love you all....... too bad I can't have you all! Lol.
SO pray for me on July 8th as I will need it. I never did lose the weight and my arms are not good with the arthritis. I need someone to care for me as I will be months in rehabilitation. I will need your prayer on this one as I live out in the country and it is difficult driving with one arm etc.
I love you all. You are wonderful people. I do miss you but believe me I would love to see a HUGE CHANGE In America.

China's Quake Zone............

Let us pray this night for the people of China who need God more than anything at this time.
Governments and particularly those that have no reference points in terms of the word "GOD" cannot console their people in times like this... they can help but cannot explain things in terms of what has happened on a supernatural level.
There will be much anger from the victims of this quake. Let us pray that they can turn their anger into something positive and perhaps find the Lord in their own hearts through this.
Jesus, our Lord and saviour... come to their rescue and let them see your light and your eternal salvation. Let none of use here and there depend on material things for our salvation.. but only YOU. Hear the cries of these innocent people dear Lord and rush to their assistance.

Oil executives making over $12 million a year?

I keep shaking my head here. DId I hear correctly that there were Congressional hearings today and a top oil executive was asked what he was making a year for a salary-- and he politely answered "$12 million and something a year".
Please God, let me believe that I did not hear this; let me please understand this this was a mistake in my hearing or a loss of memory for a moment or so. Because Dear Lord, if this is true..... there can only be a total and complete lack of conscience in the oil world. THis is unconscionable and unpardonable when so many people cannot even get to their work place for the high price of gasoline.
I live in the country... about 45 minutes from where I find work. That is about $35 for a trip both ways and it shows no signs of letting up. I literally cannot afford to travel to find work. The sad part is that governments want to do nothing to help out here because they too are making HUGE profits on the taxes on gasoline so cannot afford to stop taking their share of the taxes and wealth.
Help us O Lord!

Why are Americans no longer coming to Canada in droves.........

Crude oil futures today surpassed $130 a barrel! Could that be the biggest factor effecting the decrease in Canada's American tourists this summer?
I learned recently that the high price of the Canadian dollar combined with the loss of the GST rebate could also be a factor.
But it sure is unfortunate that we are not entertaining our American guests as we have in the past.
We love you America! Come holiday more in Canada!
