I think women like to pursue a man more than a man likes to chase a woman

Over the years I have had only a few serious relationships. I have always been pretty loyal, although I am sure there are a couple of ladies that would disagree. I am probably shooting myself in the foot with this post, but what the heck any woman that I meet and get serious with would want to know about my past anyway.

Out of those relationships, I was the prey not the hunter 6 different times! May not seem like alot but when you consider I have only had 7 real adult girlfriends (2 wives, I know, I know!)it's easy to do the math.

Number 1 I had caught her eye in high school, she got herself invited to a party that she knew I would be at. She was very aggressive and easily seduced her young worldly 17 year old prey. We lasted until I joined the Navy.

Number 2 In the navy, prior to meeting my first wife, I was on the ships flag football team. After games we would go and get massages. Well, my massusse slipped her phone number in the pocket of my coat, with a note. I won't mention what the note said, but it was a very convincing argument to call her. We dated for about a year.

Number 3 After I divorced my first wife (we were to young and full of booze to actually get to know each other) So, after my divorce, I was working as a food and beverage manager in a large resort hotel. There was a hostess in the main restaurant that I used to walk by quite frequently on my way to the main lounge. Well, my roommate was one of my staff as well. Number 3 decided to befriend my roommate and got invited to my house for a holiday party. She was all over me and I didn't realize that she had planned this. I found out after we got married (7 years we lasted) that she had been planning that meeting from the first day she saw me.

Number 4 Me and number 3 had a falling out prior to us getting married and well, number 4 I knew ahead of the seduction but she was very clever. I guess she found out that number 3 and I had broken up. She used to see me out behind the hotel in the smoking area. She would usually be friendly but knew I was with number 3. I used to have the women hostesses and waitresses wear long black dresses or skirts (their choice) up to the day number 4 found out that number 3 and I had broken up, she would wear the dress to work. one day out back taking a break she walked up, sat down next to me wearing a skirt and happened to let it ride up enough so that I could see her tattoo.

I know, I know, it's not what you think. She had a tat that went from her knee to her waist. "G" rated but it was enough along with the eye flutters and smiles to gain my curious side.

Number 5 number 5 was very cunning. She was actually number 3. She would call my house and leave messages about silly stuff. She would ask me to meet her for a drink after she got out of school (college) so she ask my opinion about her thesis. She didn't care about my opinion of her thesis. After many weeks of these innocent chats she managed to swoon me away from number 4 and we ended up getting married.

Number 6 After many good and bad years with number 3-5 I went through a couple of years with no female contact except for Krystal. For those who don't know about Krystal, you can learn about her in the I have always wanted nothing more than to hold her hand post. Anyway, I was shooting pool in a weekly tourney. Number 6 used to run the tourney. After a few weeks of playing there and occasionally chatting with her during the tourney, she told me one night that she didn't have a ride home, that he had left. Yeah right, this happened twice in two weeks. I drove her home a few times and come to find out after we started dating, that her ride home was there all those nights. They had planned the scheme to get me and her together.

So there ya go! This is why I think the cliche about men and the chase is not entirely accurate.

So ladies? Do you pursue or do you get pursued?

Oh my, You must have a secret formula I don't know about.
However two common bonds I noticed were they all seemed somehow related to the workplace, and none were met, or nurtured in a spiritual environment. No wonder they were assertive.

However, I haven't a lot of room to talk since my ex-wife pursued me, and even was the one to propose.
Now this is not to say that women should never be assertive, like Rhonda was with Ed.
Sometimes you have shy men, or men that for whatever reason just don't have a clue. We men are pretty stupid in our communications skills you know.

So sometimes the woman has to send us a Google map with printed directions for us to find them. And even then a big neon sign out front, with an arrow saying, "Here she is, now don't make me tell you what do do next."

Hmmm... I THINK I would like to know your trick. I don't think women enjoy chasing men really, but they can't stand being ignored. Apparently, you are pretty good at ignoring women. I don't mean that in a bad way; simply that you don't have your RADAR on constantly.

Women want to prove to men they are chase-worthy.
Like deer that ignore the salt lick you put out,
and then poop on your doorstep.

(Hmm... I wonder why I don't attract women..? )

well, for one thing I agree because the woman that I need now as I have devoted my priorities to Jesus seems to be very elusive. I can only say that God will present her when He is ready to. Those in my my past have brought misery and pain so I guess that those who have been spared that are blessed.

Eric,

I guess it just depends on the person. Sometimes I pursue and sometimes I let him pursue me. It's a learning experience.

blessings, Lisa

Interesting post, T. Hmmmmm, let me think a bit. In my adult life,.. no I've not pursed a man, nor has one pursed me. When I was in high school, I did do most of the chasing. I met my husband (ex) in high school and I pursed him. We were together for 18 years. I might have one one or two guys before him that did purse me, but not many. Right now,..I'm trying not to purse. Even thought I may be very interested in someone, I don't want to step outside the Lords will and screw it up. There is that fine line of letting them know you are interested and risking them "not" being interested, and if you are already "friends" then that can make things a little weird. It is definitely a hard thing to balance sometimes.

Blessings, T!

God's blessings always,
Karen

Well here's my case in point. Let's say, just for the sake of example, that Karen here and I were interested in each other. We could both be on here for years looking for someone and never connect. Why?
Because if neither of us ever makes a strong enough statement of interest to catch the others attention, it will never happen.

She's being a lady, and proper woman of God, is waiting for me to take the initiative of pursuit as the Bible says I should.

I'm trying to be a proper man of God, knowing how men are known for being less then proper in their approach, and not wanting to offend a woman of God who I have no reason to believe has any interest in me.
Therefore I keep my thoughts to myself. But both of us may drop little hints, because like it says in...
Matt. 12:23b; for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

But yet we both guard it too so as not to let too much out.
However, my comments to her would likely be taken by her as little different then what most of the other men say, (since we all tend to drool when we speak to women)
Her comments are in turn overlooked by me because we men are pretty much retarded when it comes to reading another's expression of interest.

So there you have it, and so it goes on until one day she refers to me as 'a special friend,' when I finally realize my missed opportunity, and by then it's far too late.

Hypothetically, as an example of coarse. qout;

Isaiah 66:2b; But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
