Don't Force Feed Me

You know, you can't force feed someone and make them like it! More likely than not, they'll go the other way. When my was small she wouldn't even taste oatmeal so she didn't know if she really liked it or not. One morning I tried to force a bite of oatmeal in her mouth, the more I tried to get her to eat it the tighter she shut her mouth. To this day she cannot even stand the smell of oatmeal.
When you try to force something/someone on a person, the natural reaction is to balk like a mule.

The carnal mind can never accept who Jesus is. It has to come by revelation! When Jesus asked Peter, "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered Him and said, "You are the Christ, the of the Living God." Then Jesus told Peter he was blessed for flesh and blood did not reveal this to him but it came from the Father. In other words Peter had a revelation of who Jesus was.

Romans 8 vs 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Nor can you bring someone to the knowledge of Jesus by resorting to name calling and arguing. You cannot cram Him down people's throats! That only causes strife and division among the brethren. Don't some of you get tired of butting your head against the wall, casting your pearls before swine? The Word of God tells us after awhile it's best just to shake the dust off your feet and move on. Too much time is being wasted in strife and contention when there are millions who want to hear the Word, who want to know Jesus. Why waste your time on those who don't? Time is too short!

Philippians 2 vs 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
James 3 vs 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

You can't force feed anyone Jesus!
Tell them about Jesus!
Teach them about Jesus!
Love them like Jesus!
Be like Jesus in your actions and attitude!
You cannot shove someone into the kingdom but you can gently lead them, love them there.

1Corinthians 3 vs 1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

But you my brothers and sisters should not be carnal...we should be walking in the Spirit.

There are some who need to spit out the bottle and start chewing on some meat!

The fields are white and ready for harvest.
God is asking who will work in my fields?

He is asking, "Whom can I send?"
I say, "Here I am Lord, send me!"

Love and Hugs

Lord, keep one hand on my shoulder and one hand over my mouth!

Hi sweetie, you are so right.
I would rather see a sermon any day than hear one.

I just have to keep trying!

Oh Lord open eyes and hearts!
Give them eyes to see and ears to hear, let this message be received in the spirit in which it is given...with love.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Love and Hugs

Thank you sweetie.
You know I just picked someone randomly the other day and went back over their blogs. Would you believe these same fights have been going for at least 3 years!

Wise, wonderful, sweet, beautiful Christ-like sister/friend of mine. Words like water in the desert. I'm not sure anyone who needs the words will actually listen or see themselves in it, but that doesn't diminish the beauty of them!

Hee Hee that is so funny. You'd eat a stolen one but not the one your daddy had? Hmmmm
You're right about Jesus, He wants us to come to Him because we love Him not because we're afraid.
Thank you sweetie, to God the glory!

You know sweetie out of 4 kids I'm sure I've had to do the same thing a time or two. Too bad babies don't come with manuals, huh.
Yes I used to know a couple who were not happy unless they were fighting, like you said they thrived on it.
But here at BC I think it's a lot of pride and ego.
Love you sister of mine!

Ahhhhhh honey you are so sweet.
This post has had quite a few viewers so maybe, just maybe who needed to see it, did. But it probably won't do any good, this fight has been going on for at least 3 years. Like my wise sister Rhonda said, some people just seem to thrive on all this bickering. I think a lot of it is pride and ego and.......the attention! If we quit going to those kind of posts and giving them the attention they crave, maybe it will stop.
Again thank you for your kind words.

Thank you for coming by and commenting sweet girl.
I just picked someone randomly, who it was is not important. I'm sorry to say no one wins in a situation like this.

I think the binkering is more than pride and ego. It is a form of bullying. Cyber bullying is very prominent in our world. We can say what we want and not be held accountable because we don't "FACE" our victims. No accountability here. Words do sting and do damage. It is the coward's way of sharing their opinions. (notice I didn't say beliefs)

I stay away from those blogs. In this world, I need encouragement and uplifting, not strife and contention. I live in that world 24 hours a day (I teach teens) If I want an argument, I can find one anywhere.

We should be in the business of building each other UP lovingly and not with cheap words.

Thanks for your blog. Blessings.

I'm just coming out of a rough situation that was hard on me, where the guy accepted the Lord. He's gone and I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders, even though he accepted Jesus.

I'm so glad, though, that God is ultimately in charge of whether someone accepts Jesus or not! I'm so glad it's not fully in my hands! "No man can come unto the Father unless the Holy Spirit calls him". That's what I've seen in my life.

Rambling...anyway. Thanks for your post.
