Are YOU going to pray for Obama?

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

It's been hours since the elections (and I have to say-- it really should have been no shock that Obama won) and so many people on here are so depressed, upset, ready to leave the country...etc. over the election of Obama. Why all the despair? Aren't we to stand on The Word and rest on our faith in Christ through any situation? If Jesus is with us, no world leader or President or any official can change that. And everything, including elections, go according to God's Will.

God removes kings and establishes kings for His own purposes. (Daniel 2:21)

At the same time, we are supposed to be praying for our leaders. Many, many times in these forums people have urged me to pray for President Bush. Is everyone doing the same for President Obama? Are we going to The Lord and asking our Father to bless, guide Obama and give him wisdom to rule so that we can live life in all godliness? Are we praying for his Presidency to be a good thing for the nation? I hope so.

We are called to pray that Christians are able to live in peace amidst a crooked and perverse generation in which the body of Christ shines as lights in the world. However, Obama, is no more of God than Macaine.

The whole world loves Obama..... the global pole says all nations except of course Iraq wanted Obama in power. That is because most western countries are liberal and the world is sick of Republican corruption. However, what is not shown is that this guy will pave the way for America to join world policy and eventually the one world government....man wants to solve their own problems without God. Macaine would have led USA into deeper doodoo anyway. God is allowing this ...IT IS WRITTEN IN SCRIPTURE. No amount of prayer will change what is written. Christan's need to stop idolizing governmet and start living in Gods kingdom exclusively. Beware when they say peace, peace, then sudden disaster comes!

Of course I will be praying for Obama, just as I have prayed for all presidents and all heads of states around the world. It is our duty as christians, regardless if we like him or not.

He's your enemy?? Then the Bible applies perfectly.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. John 5:44-45.

Hey Sis, I said pray so that we can live in godliness. I understand completely that end times prophecy are taking shape. Obama, like McCain, are globalists, whose policies will move towards regional governments. But that does not mean we disregard the Bible.

I am not putting my stock or faith in government. I am putting it with The Lord and His Annointed One.

Absolutely will be praying for him. I have had emails saying he is a Muslim. He is not a Muslim, he is a Christian. But no matter what religion he is, he still is our president, and Yes, I will keep him and this country in my prayers. And I pray that all here will, as well.

May God Bless You in ABUNDANCE

I have already prayed for President Obama, did last night during his acceptance speech, I felt the Lord holding my tongue during prayer, I know He has plans for this country, I know that Obama's election is God's will. I can't wait to see our new president succeed and rise to the occasion, he will be a great president regardless what foreigners and domestics say.

Life is an adventure.

NJBeliever: Oustanding post. We are absolutely commanded to pray for Obama. Regardless of whether we voted for him (I did not).

Let us not be dismayed. I trust God completely. Therefore, I trust His plan. Now it is for us to pray that Obama leads this country according to God's will.

Amen, brother. Thanks for the great words of wisdom.

Lol. I've never seen that one before. But I'm glad we're on the same page.

We must always recognize that God is indeed on the throne. And should continue to rejoice in Him and obey Him.
