If you're put off, then be put on! In verse 3 of Colossians chapter 3, we are told, "For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Amen! He has given us a new identity - but that required death to self! Then, in verses 8 and 9, we are instructed that there's some things we must do ourselves! "But now, you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthly language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds." Colossians 3:8,9 God doesn't do that for us, we have to consciously make the decision to be obedient to His word and put those things out of our lives. Then in verses 12 and 13 we are told what to put on...or what to replace anger, wrath, etc. with. "...put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against you; even as Christ forgave you, so you must do." Seems to me like if we are doing what we are commanded to do, our corner of the world would be a much better place... Amen, brother, preach it.... I totally agree. good word. Seems to me like if we are doing what we are commanded to do, our corner of the world would be a much better place...
