Those who are genuine...

For those who are genuinely interested in my and his progress. He went to school yesterday and had to do english. He was so excited to come home and tell me, guess what mum, Mr .. wrote "excellent work" on my english! He so needs to hear these good things about himself, to build his confidence and self esteem. We went to church on sunday and I showed my note to everyone I could. They were so genuinely pleased for us. I spoke to a friend and she knows his teachers mother is a christian, not sure if he is tho, I will ask. but you know there really is something different about christians, it shows! ..... I changed the photo for you Joy, he is a handsome boy, he's my beautiful boy! I used to sing this to him at night, "before you go to sleep, I say a little prayer, to the Lord above, He is every where, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy..." sung to John Lennons tune and say "mummy loves you big up to the stars, jupiter and mars" ... Every night I say this to him and he says the same back, only he says, sonny loves you ... Sweet dreams, God bless you and protect you always, mummy loves you and Jesus loves you, see you in the morning ... nigh nigh ...

Amen, we ALL need encouragement! I think it was our generation that didnt get much encouragement, it was just the way things were. I tell my son to do his best and that is all we can do, our best! Thanks Joy ...

My girl is a senior now and years ago I started asking her each evening... "What did you learn at school today?" It is a great way to start communication at dinner time and in a positive mood...

I was talking to a friend just today... and they had a guest for dinner because their mom was gone for the next week at her boyfriends in Portland... and at 17 was left home alone... and as their dinner started... my friend asked one of their four children... "What was your high and low point for the day?"... and the children began to share... their guest asked... "do you do this every evening? do you always eat at the kitchen table?"...

I lift up in prayer all of the kids in this world that don't have caring parents...

Thanks for this post!!! It really hit home!!!

Let the SON shine!!!

The lord always provides for his beloved. We can trust him for our future. Through all the trials and tribulations Gods elect only grow more in his grace. Bless your family.

We eat at the table most nights ... one of the things we did as kids, was to always eat at the table. Mum would tell us all the family stories of her childhood etc. God bless you and yours Michael...

Thanks Hellen, it is good! I have homeschooled him since 05 and I said God, I cant do this by myself anymore, so he wanted to go to school, he's tried there once before, he was vilified, bullied and bashed! One father threatened to come and sort me out, later found it was his kid who was the main problem. So I am proud of my son for going back! God is really looking after him and answering ALL my prayers, amen!

They said he had a low IQ, a.s.d, a.d.h.d, o.d.d. blah blah, I said that's NOT what God says, amen!. I have proved them wrong... He's sitting beside me on his computer, playing a dogfight game, I had to take him for his first xray today, he hurt his hand playing dodgeball at school. He was anxious, but now he knows they dont hurt. He is a great kid and I am proud of him. GBU ...
