Was Talking To A Life Long Friend

Was talking to a life long friend who asked me for prayer in a certain overwhelming situation. He said he felt I knew how to talk to God better than he could. I suggested we pray right now. It was over the telephone so I just cried out Lord bring healing in Jesus name Amen. He seemed amazed, that's it? He asked. Yep.
Preachers and people of God always use long and profound long exclamations and prayers with very eloquent words to pray and ask God for things.

I responded:
When Jesus administered God's healing power He didn't say Oh merciful Father please reach down and touch our friend You alone are Holy and we are but lowly so with your mighty power..., we rebuke you satan and declare that on and on and on.
No, He said two words, be healed.

If your needed something and he came to you and said oh wealthy powerful father who has all kinds of money and funds please I beg you to bless me with a nickle if you see fit so I may not be poor and in need I rebuke the power of poverty and cast out satan and take back what the devil is trying to deprive me of. I plead that you reach down and pour a blessing on me if that be your holy will and so on and so forth. You would be kinda embarrassed to have your approach you like that. If he came and said Dad could I have a nickle? You would laugh and say, here, have a dime; now wouldn't you?
He thought about it for a second and said you are right. We aren't supposed to act like slaves, but as we simply speak the word and God can meet the need in great abundance.
All the other stuff God already knows we understand.
It's always a plus to claim a scripture when asking God to meet a need, but He already knows what is etched in your heart from your relationship with Him, so simply claiming the need is not wrong. It shows power and faith to just say the word and provide the opening for Father God to do it.

Guess I am just babbling, been having a lot of great experiences with long term faith friends and lots of other coming into faith friends. Hard to know what to blog about anymore because it is just one miracle and victory after another.

Matthew 6:
7: But when ye pray... they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8: Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Ti:2:14: Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity

I'm with you here Anita! He knows our needs before we even ask. Prayer equates to relationship. He just wants us to come to HIM. He wants our fellowship.

To each their own I reckon but I sometimes look on the LONG-DRAWN OUT prayers as the babbling type thing attributed to the Pharisees. Most times I just let folks know I'll be praying THEN go to my closet. HE knows!

A mere "HELP LORD!!" works wonders!

Anita,

Thank you for showing a simple truth. This post shows that you, like so few have a true intimate relationship with your Heavenly Father. It does my heart a great service and brings great Joy to see this.
