Preparing for Rita Hello, Hurricane Rita is in the Gulf. It is heading towards Houston. I am in Houston. If I am not able to manage my blogs over the next few days, or week, please know that as soon as the power is back on, my blogs will continue. As I stepped onto my porch yesterday morning at 5 am, I felt a cool North wind. It was peaceful. Thank you for your prayers. GBY Anita

Just got back from the store, to complete the list of things we need to ride the storm out. Bible, check; Water, check; Radio, check; Flashlights, check; lighters, check; candles, check; glow in the dark necklaces, check; dern, I forgot to load up on t-paper. Sure hope 6 double rolls is enough to last. Now off to move my books and important documents up high..., Block the sliding glass door...., Fill containers with water...., clean out the fridge..., move outdoor projectiles..., am I missing anything?

Gosh, I just turned on a news conference and there's some Mayor saying, "Well, whatever's gonna happen's gonna happen." Then Governor Rick Perry is saying that the evacuees did the right thing, to leave as quick as they could. WOW, If I were the Mayor, I would not issue mandantory evacuations, I would call for a mandantory meeting downtown and get all four million Houstonians (and New Orleans evacuees we have here) downtown and holler out in faith to God. There's no way that storm could come anyplace near here if everyone would do that. just a thought.

I touch and agree with Firecracker. "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth, about anything that you may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in Heaven." My son lives in Victoria and he had to start evacuting this morning. God will bless you, this I know. Liz

Thanks Liz and Firecracker, I appreciate you two standing in agreement with me that God is in control. I have a place to go, but I will not leave my daughter and my grandsons. Tom, even if I wanted to leave, there is no gas. Besides, the cars are all at a standstill on the highways due to congestion and cars running out of gas; and if traffic doesn't get moving soon, they will be riding the storm out in their cars. I feel safe in the preparations that we made and I know God is watching over me. Of course, I know you were just big brotherin' me again. Thanks. LOL GBY Anita

god bless you for the comment on my blog. Texas will be in my prayers. have faith, the outcome wont be like the one in new orleans. and before you know it all is well and over. trust me im in miami home of the "hurricanes". Rita's last stop was here.GodBless.

Thanks Pete, and now I am praying heavily in my spirit for Barb and the others in CA. There was an earthquake north of LA. Ya'll pray for them. The hurricane is beginning to lose some of its strength and the eye is less stable. Prayer does work, and we feel safe. Thank you, everyone for your prayers and words of love. GBY Anita

And let's not forget the over 5,000 people stranded on the roadways from the multimillion people exodus. It will no be good for them to be stuck on the highway during the storm. Lord be with them. Anita

It seems the storm is weakening as it closer to land which always happens but you still have to ride out the worst of it. I'll be praying for you till you're able to get back on line. OMNI means ALL ALL MEANS ALL

OKAY, so, it is 5:30 pm, Friday and the dark clouds are beginning to come in. In several hours the rain should start. From what I understand the eye is less stable, it is breaking up and lowered from a category 5 to a 3. It is moving a little east, so we will not catch the worst of the storm. The heavy rains and winds could, however knock out power. Let's see what happens..., Thank ya'll for praying, it helped; Praise God! GBY Anita

Anita ; Wanted to say you are in my prayers having gone thru hurricanes last year here in floridaa I know the fear it can casue , But we know an Almighty God who can protect us all. I will be praying for you all in the storms path.. Ronda

I agree with Anita that prayer can change the storm. Anita early this year in our hurricane season (Nov-Apr) there were several in a row within just 5 weeks. One in particular was very strong (category 4) - it devastated American Samoa (did you get that on your news?). It headed towards the island I was on and another one had just passed. So all the weather people were predicting terrible things, talking about how the one that had just passed would be sucked back and join up with the one coming. A prayer chain was formed that went day and night for several days. The cyclone that had passed continued on its course & eventually died out and the one that was going to be a direct hit, for some reason suddenly changed course and we just got the edge of it! Of course there was still damage, but not like it was predicted to be. Dear Jesus, take care of Anita and her household. Remove any fear from them and replace it with peace. Surround her home with peace and make it strong. Let her be a place of refuge for others who may seek her encouragement, comfort, strength, advice and mostly her source of peace. Let your will be done Lord, but if possible cause this storm to die out or turn back to sea. Thank you Jesus. Amen

Thank you Sister Ronda, Sister Edna, and Brother John. The storm left us virtually unaffected. These prayers were not unanswered and I thank you all for your faith. If you ever need me to pray in the Name of Jesus for your safety, I certainly will, in fact, I will now..., In the Name of Jesus, Father God, Bless those Who have Blessed me and Protect their Comings and Goings with special favor. In Jesus' Name I Praise You and Thank You for Your Jealousy over your children; it causes You to Always Keep Them Safe - Close to You. We Praise Your Holy Name, AMEN.
