Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm So, Chris and I were having our usual cup of tea this morning and we were discussing this new jewelry line I have started that is taking off like a rocket. I am making hand carved cameos of Jesus and wrapping them in gold to make the most lovely pendants. I considered aloud whether I should add some carved stone crucifixes to my new line of Christian jewelry. Chris had a thought provoking response. He said, if I was violently murdered and the coroner came and took pictures of me with a knife in my chest and put the framed photo of my death over the mantle would that be acceptable? I thought about it for a minute, and realized the victory was not in the brutal death of Jesus and that if we really want to celebrate what was accomplished through His death we would all be wearing an icon of an empty tomb. Just a thought. |

I guess perhaps people have preferences. Many wear crucifixes because of it being a rememberence that He hung there for us. I prefer just a cross because I know He has risen--- Some don't wear crosses at all, and there is nothing wrong with that either- ???????????

hum, how about a line with the open cave. I saw something like that recently, but I wasn't impressed with the design. Or even a cross in the clouds symbolizing the resurrection power of the cross. Or even a design where it has one of those circles with a line through it over a cross symbolizing that death no longer exists. ok, I think I just expended my creativity for the day. LOL

Well thank you Sheri, I will, but right now I am refining my process and adding a lot of different things to my Christian Cameo Collection. I hope to have some wonderful things to show you real soon.

Suz, thanks, hey I am refining my process of cameo production and making high relief porcelain carved Jesus Cameos with the background glazed light scale brown to resemble shell cameos. I have over 40 designs now, about 12 of them are Christian motif including Jesus, crucifix, the woman giving Jesus water at the well, Mary kissing baby Jesus, Angels and many more. It is going to be so wonderful to get this all rolling along, I have already bought a kiln and have orders rolling in including an order for 100-200 to sell at a Christmas festival this December here in England, and a great number of other people waiting to place orders so I am looking at making at least 1,000 of them by the end of the year. This is fantastic, I have been believing God for a way to find a unique product that no one else offers (high relief porcelain cameos) so I can earn income and can focus completely on my book again, and it looks like very soon I will be able to do that. I will be happy to email you some pics of my inventory once I get the sample lots finished. stay in touch and thanks for your encouraging words, what a blessing you are.
