Who'd a thunk chickens could be so loving and smart? I like the name Florence.
My problem now is that I call them, "chick, chick, chick, chick...,"
so when I go to my daughter's I inadvertently call her dogs that same way and people laugh their hoohaa's off at me.

I have really missed you!
I had to bottle feed a baby goat and she thought I was her mommy and she was a dog. She learned to come though a doggie door which I thought was kewl.
I love animals, all animals.

Hey Neet:

My sister raises exotic chickens in Iowa. Like you, she has them all named. She goes out to the chicken house and sits with them on her lap and talks to them. It is hilarious to hear her get going on talking about her chickens. She is very talented in crafts and makes all kinds of "chicken accessories" and sells them on ebay. She makes alot of money doing it too. Her current project is a "chicken saddle". ROTFL. She has alot of fun doing her chicken stuff and raising her chickens. She is an awesome sister!

God Bless,
SD

P.S. - You are welcome for the info on the book The Gospel In The Stars. I am like you in that I really like the old books. A couple more of my favorite books are: Foxe's Book of Martyrs by John Foxe (1563); and, The Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan (1678 ).

Interesting post. I'm familiar with chickens, we used to have them on the farm when I was a little guy. When it was time to put them in the freezer I would help and go in and catch a few of them. We didn't name them or make pets out of them, so I find it interesting that you have done so and even taken the time to train some of yours.

Have fun in the hen house!
