FAITH IN ACTION I just got back from worship team. Patrick, the leader asked to bring me home because he wanted to talk to me. In the church I grew up in, when one of the ministers said they needed to talk to you---you braced yourself. You were in trouble. Negativity was how things were done. But Patrick just informed me that at Tremont (the church I attend) they believe faith should have action. Then, after beating around the bush a little more, he informed me that they had purchased the bike I've been drooling over. Since my car accident, I don't drive. The church isn't that far away. I hate depending on others all the time for rides; I feel I'm imposing. So I wanted this bike. And three families in the church heard about it, got together, and bought it for me. It has been ordered, and will be here in about a week. Is that great, or what? I was so pleased, I couldn't talk. Patrick seemed to find it especially funny when I told him he had found a way to make me speechless. Hmmm..... |
