CHRISTIANS AND DANCING...WHAT DO YOU THINK?

At one church I went to, a woman told me that dancing is nothing more than foreplay on the dance floor.
At another church I attended, interpretive dancing was part of the church service.
Some say dancing is okay, just don't bump and grind.
Some say it's the example...people will think you're bad because you are dancing, and it will leave a smudge on the name of Christ.
What do you think?
Please explain why you voted the way you did.
Christians should not dance.
Christians should be free to dance, if it's to the glory of God.
Christians can go out and dance, just don't lust.

So, what you're saying is: the person who claimed that people---men, especially---get turned on by dancing....that person was way off. Right? People don't get turned on by the motion of the bodies? Or do they?

Someone in the bible accused David of the very same things that "The Church" accuses others of when it comes to dancing, and GOD HIMSELF struck that person DEAD on the SPOT!

I think that makes it VERY CLEAR that dancing is OK.

Also, use common sence! If ALL types of dancing is a sin, then I am actually facinated to learn about the uniqueness that God made Christians with, if a simple SQUARE DANCE turns someone on to the point that it would lead to the bedroom!

There is a HUGE difference between ballroom dancing, a square dance, the cha cha, and A LAP DANCE!!! Come on? Sence when did people loose common sence when becoming saved?

Is that what it means to "take on the MIND of Christ?"

I think dancing is find as long as its not dirty dancing and now not like in the movie "Dirty Dancing"!!!!..You know the dirty I'm talking about. And man!!!! do I love that movie. I loooove to dance..but I don't think going to a bar is ok...What we need is a good clean place for Christians to go and enjoy ourself. Without all the other things that go with going out to a bar.

Angel looking 4 her wings.. I will loosen myself from what has held me in the past, and from all the things that claw at my soul and threaten to pull it away from Gods purpose.

In Him, I need never worry.

God is God‒be humbled.
God is good‒be encouraged.
God is great‒be thankful

Shake your groove thing, shake your groove thing, ya ya! (dancing banana here)

It depends on what type of dancing you're doing. I'm sure Jesus would have no problem with Square Dancing but would certainly frown on grinding your naughty against someone on the dance-floor. God wouldn't have gave us the desire to dance if he frowned on all dancing; He just want us to keep it clean.
