I HAVE NO GREATER JOY THAN TO HEAR THAT MY WALK IN TRUTH SAYS THE LORD How can one know how to get saved if he does not have sound doctrine? What is sound doctrine? Sound argument, an argument that is valid and all of whose premises are true Doctrine is a principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief, as by a religious, political, scientific, or philosophic group; dogma. So in other words. Sound doctrine means to have a religious belief that is valid and true. If you believe in an unsound doctrine, how can you be sure that you are believing truth and have eternal life? What does the bible say about sound doctrine? Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine. Romans 6:17,18 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Titus 2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. I Timothy 1:3,4 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. Titus 1;8-10 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate, Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision. II Timothy 4;3,5 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. II Timothy 2:4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. GREAT SCRIPTURES Sweethoney, and you are absolutely correct when you say that we need SOUND DOCTRINE; Jesus the Christ speaks of a "SPECIFIC" doctrine that he claims is not HIS, but of HIS that sent him. John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. Doc·trine Pronunciation:\ˈdäk-trən\ Function:noun Etymology:Middle English, from Anglo-French & Latin; Anglo-French, from Latin doctrina, from doctor Date:14th century 1archaic : teaching , instruction 2 a: something that is taught b: a principle or position or the body of principles in a branch of knowledge or system of belief : dogma c: a principle of law established through past decisions d: *Please note that the above text was taken from Merriam Webster* Jesus says in the book of; Mark 7  "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.What it boils down to is that "MAN" has taken the "DOCTRINE" of Jesus Christ and put his 2 cents into it thus pioneering a "DENOMINATION" causing STRIFE and DIVISION. From the BEGINNING, there was one TRUTH and one TRUTH ONLY; John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Sound doctrine means correct teaching. The bible is above man's doctrines or ones logic and emotion. If something is in the bible then it is truth and if man's doctrine or world view can be disproven by the bible one should chuck out the man made lie and recieve the engraphed word to save their souls! Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

Sound doctrine means correct teaching... okay so now we have NUMOROUS "DENOMINATIONS" that CLAIM that thier "DOCTRINE" is "SOUND DOCTRINE" so what "DOCTRINE' was Jesus talking about in the book of John 7:16? Rom. 5:8 while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

If you read and study your bible you will know truth from error. Remember that Jesus said.... John 7: 14-24 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee? Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers  and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
