Words

Let the words of our mouth
And the meditation of our heart
Be acceptable in Thy sight
Here tonight

Remember this song by Boney M? (obviously seeing as I'm only 30 I must have heard it from my great grandmother or something!)

Well these words have been playing on my brain over and over the last few days.

Words can build people up, or they can tear them down. Words can edify or crush a spirit.

I know that in my impulsiveness, I sometimes use words so inappropriately and it causes pain or discord.

The meditation of our heart.....hmmmmm....if we are focussing our attention on God, allowing Him to be our words, then the words we speak will be edifying and encouraging, rather than tearing down.

Then it truly will be acceptable in His sight.


Lord I pray that you guard my heart and guard my mouth. Because the state of my heart reflects the words I speak with my mouth. Help me to speak words that edify and not crush. Help me to be sensitive to Your Holy Spirit, so that both my heart and my mouth will be acceptable in Your sight. Amen

 Amen Pen! That scripture is part of the heading to my blog. I try to pray that every morning! Words that build up, not tear down! Thoughts that glorify God, not me! Blessings!
