- THE CHURCH EMBRACES BOTH SAINTS AND SINNERS IN HER BOSSOM -

Confronted with manifestation of sin and evil, we ask why, if Jesus has indeed come for our redemption, evil continues to pervade our world.

Today's Gospel parable of the Weeds among the wheat gives us an explanation of faith: God sows only good seed; evil comes from the hearts of men and women who choose not to obey Him. Still, God patiently waits for the harvest, bearing with slow growth and making room for repentance.

Let us ask for the gift to be patient with one another's faults and to heed God's call for a change of heart.

We have Jesus' own interpretation of the parable of the weeds and he says "the field is the WORLD" {not the church}. Certainly we should be patient with each other's faults, but we have no mandate from that parable to allow a mixed church.
