The Christian Pledge


I will be a Christian till I die
Even if you think it’s a joke or just a lie
Years, months and days I cry
Praying that temptation would just pass me by

The fear of the quake keeps me awake
The roar of the jungle makes me stumble
The rushing of the sea tells a lot about me
The honesty of my integrity slips beneath my feet
While the fire of my furness burns within me
And so I run to safety in my Christian beliefs

I will be a Christian till I die
Even in the darkest hour
And there is no blue left in the sky
I will stand tall
even when my back is pierced against the wall

I was caught in bondage like a slave to sin
Trap in my own lust but still calling out to HIM
When the stormy wind and the cry of the mighty thunder
I trembled in reverence and whisper a prayer
I hid beneath the shadow of my Christian faith
Until the fear of man no longer made me shake

I will stand like David to Goliath
I will march like the army of a million
Going through a riot
I will make my voice be heard
By the uttering of every word
Yes I will die the Christian death
And rise again in a Royal life
Jesus Christ is Lord
