So..what do you think and why are you here?

I know that I've been outspoken about not hooking up online. I've been using the internet about as long as Al Gore. Remember when an IM box would dissappear when a person got booted offline or left before you had time to read it? Or when there were so few people online that you could pop up a box that showed everyone coming and going? UGH...I'm old. LOL

ANYWAY....I had been dating a 'real life' person, but not anymore. I don't have time and am not sure where to find decent men (or 'a man'..I'm not into the polygamy thing. lol) And the Tampa culture is much different than what I grew up with.
BUT, the internet dating thing kinda freaks me out because you don't really know the other person. I realize that my sarcasm sometimes gives a wrong impression. (Ive gotten responses in both directions to the same post. ie; That was hysterical and How dare you?!?!) So my point is.. what if I push someone away because of misunderstanding..or quite the opposite..let someone in because they're fake?
ALSO..as I've mentioned before..the distance thing. I'm not moving. I'm so flexible huh? What a hot commodity I am. LOL

So..I guess my question is. Do you date here? Are there people in your area? After all these years..should I lighten up?
You never know where you'll find mr/ms right.
You have to be flexible or it;s not gonna work
Head to the produce section..it's not happenin' here.
Sure..this venue is GREAT!
You never know til you try it.
I've had great success with the internet date scene
I'm here for freinds only...don't want the web site dates
Nobody is gonna want you crazy lady..go back to Boston!!

I used to be against internet dating, too. Now, I've married five women from the internet. Two were pretty nice!

Why do you ask?

Sertiously, if you don't feel you have the time and you are not flexible, you probably shouldn't be dating now. But you know that, right?

Seriously, if you don't feel you have the time and you're not flexible,
you probably shouldn't be dating now. But you know that, right?

I've always been open minded about things, and was openminded about *internet dating*... as most the people I know on chat, have met someone, dated, and married..

But.. been there, done that, got the t-shirt, the mug and souvenier and wont be going back there again..

Realistically, I think that this place is like anywhere else. You can meet people here and it is another alternative place one can meet people.

Still, it seems impossible to truly have a relationship with someone without spending time with them. Actual time and not just chatting back and forth. A relationship can only work with two actual people and not an ideal of someone who you build up in your head.

It is not a real relationship until two people become part of each other's lives in a real, flesh and blood sense.
