I wonder how you all really are....

Just a general thought about everyone here.

Way back in the day when people online were few and far between...before the days of unlimited internet when every walmart shopper in town hopped on the bandwagon; I went to a few online get togethers.
The first one was when I was on C-serve. There were only 6 people from massachusetts and we all went out to chinese food. It was so cool. At the time, chatting with people across the state or across the ocean was still so new and intriguing.

Anyway..that meeting..and a couple others made me realize that people are not always as they seem. I dont know why my brain was closed in a bubble, but I really assumed people were as they typed. I mean, if you think it and type it, why wouldn't it be the same thing that you would say face to face??
Boy was I stupid. The most outgoing people online were the ones hiding in the corner, afraid to speak. Not everyone of course. There were those who were..or appeared to be the same as their persona. But overall I was shocked to say the least. I know, I know..people say its easier here because you're not face to face..easier to hide..easier to say what you want to say.

But I still don't get it..If you can think it and you can type it..why not say it.
I dunno..when I was young I was extremely shy..not around freinds and family..but to strangers and stuff. Perhaps I would have a better understanding if the internet was around then.
As for now...I pretty much type as I speak. No...Often times I backspace here LOL Can't do that in real life. LOL But both here and face to face I've learned that not everything that comes to mind needs to be said. That valve doesn't always shut off..but you know what I mean.

Soo..my point to this rambling is....I wonder who is as they type and who is using the mask.
I'm not sure I'll believe all that you tell me...but have at it anyway. LOL

I've found the same thing. People can just about be whoever they want others to see them as. I doubt I'm the same way I appear on the internet to you. But it's not done intentionally. Even Paul in the bible said something similar that in person people looked at him or thought of him different then his letters.

What you see is what you get with me.

I'm not afraid to meet people online.. but I don't run into many people that I think I'd get along with in the real world.

LOL i got that impression from you.
Eventually you learn to get along with even the people you don't care too much to be around. It took me a while to learn to keep my mouth shut.....it still doesn't always happen.

I think we tend to build up a image of someone on line to how they actually are.. Like If you met someone, the image they portray is not necessarily how they are in real life..

However.. that aside

In real life, I'm a bit more diplomatic than I am on here, especially in chat, because you see the real person in life.. however, I'm more quick witted and funnier in real life and more of a gentle person.. people have got it in their head on here that I'm a beeyotch and I'm really not.. saying that.. I do stick up for myself and maybe thats what they dont like

hey.. tad long winded.. so basically.. I'm more or less ME on here.. voice aside

I understand.
But my point was people who are blatantly different...because they can be. That thought had never crossed my mind and I was shocked...now it's just kinda expected. However I haven't met anyone from online for years. and never 1 on 1

Variety is the spice of life.

---the Lone Ranger

Kemosabe (or any of the other various spellings) *is* a real word. It's from the language of the Potowatomie Indians. The Potowatomie Indians lived in and around Michigan. (The Lone Ranger originated at WXYZ in Detroit.) One of the shows' producers, Jim Jewell, had a father-in-law who ran a boy's camp named "Camp Kee-mo-sah-bee."

Kemosabe means "faithful friend" or "trusty scout."

I doubt anyone is the same face to face than here. Don't you wish you had a delete button when you say something stupid? I'm alittle more shy face to face untill I get to know you. After that you might be reaching for the delete button
