Got recipes?

As most of you know I recently opened my coffee shop/bakery. I keep trying different things to see what works in the area.
Because we're a Boston themed shop, I make some things from back home, but I make some general bakery items as well.

BUT...I'm always willing to try out some new stuff.

Because we're in a huge hispanic area, next week I'm buying a small fryer and will be making churros and adding cafe con leche as well. I know...not boston...but I'm in Tampa so ya gotta go with what works. Besides..churros are good stuff!!! LOL

Ok....give me your time tested recipes..I'll let ya know how it works out. Maybe I'll even name them after you. LOL
(we do sell Bob Cookies, named after my friend who used to make them for my when they were young..theyve called them that forever and it stuck. LOL

Thanks tons!!

We have a dish in the family from my in-laws called Eleanor Shrimp named after my mother-in-laws friend Eleanor, of course. For over 50 years, its been called Eleanor Shrimp and it's delicious!

Have fun collecting recipes. If I can think of anything, I'll let you know.

I think there are more mexicans around here than cubans. I made cafe con leche for a week and noone ordered it so that's off the menu til business picks up a bit more.

As far as the other stuff...where the heck are the recipes?? Do I look cubana? LOL

If the people there are from northern Mexico they probably prefer a good Chamomile tea to coffee...and a caldo de res with lime. mmmmmmm.

I was at a home of a Romanian woman the other day and she had THE most delicious desert...simple but soooooo tasty.

4 layers of filo pastry laid out on a towel...
spread a mixture of ricotta cheese/cottage cheese with desired amount of sugar on top, use towel to roll, fold ends up...and bake.

I've often thought about opening a coffee shop myself, since most of my life has been spent working in and managing restaurants, lol!

I had the perfect theme too, was gonna put a jukebox with nothing but Christian CD's in it, and call it CrossWalk Cafe

Good idea.
But it's a ton of work. And too much money..and a HUGE stress!! I typically thrive on stress....this puts it a little over the top. LOL
