Stormy Day in the Heartland: Is everybody OK?

Wow, we've had some pretty wild weather in Kansas today, and it's not over. Lots of severe thunderstorms, even some tornadoes. Eastern Colorado had several tornado warnings, so did Oklahoma and Texas. Are all y'all OK?

We have had some strong wind, which sent my running to the neighbors, because I was still at work. They said the trees were bending down to the ground.

I'm so glad God is lookin' out for us!

Blessings,
Merry

I think we are scheduled to get those storms later. Glad to hear all is well with you and yours. It's a good thing God can be everywhere at once!

HI Merry.... I love the picture that you posted. Is that near you? I hope the weather has improved there now. I did hear about some of it on the news earlier today. Hope things are good with you otherwise!!

Sorry, Candi, just a beautiful pic I found somewhere on the net. But it does look like it could have been taken here. Take care!

It turned a weird golden yellow -green color around here at about 8pm ..it was pretty if it had not been so odd ...literally it was glowing through the windows illuminating the house in this odd cast. I just shut down the house and told the boys they needed to stay inside, Josh told me I was a wimp and Phaelan wanted to go out and play in the odd light..lol. In the end it was just fine just some heavy rain and winds but its better to be safe than sorry. I am glad to hear you and yours are ok up there.

I'm glad you are OK. My weather on the computer had tornado warnings in the Tulsa area for about an hour. That greenish light is definitely something that happens before a tornado.

WOOHOO I hope it calms down soon. I know how bad the winds can get. It blew the bed cover right off the back end of my son's truck, it flew over the roof and smashed into the hood. Major damage. So you all be careful, and run for cover if ya hafta.

I guess my son saw that wierd light, as he's in Tulsa as well. I'll have to ask him about it.

Oh, wow, sorry about your son's truck; I hope he has insurance. We're fine--didn't even get any more storms last night, but the internet was off for some reason.

You know Shar that was the one reason I knew ll was ok in spite of the weird light yesterday...there was a bird singing. I told my son that a bird was singing and it would all be ok. He looked at me like I was nuts and said but what if the bird got it wrong mom? LOL

I am so sorry to hear about your sons truck. Winds and hail seem to be the big culprits around here when it comes to car damage when it happens. Thankfully it was a calm night.

Yep, it's that time of year and the tornado alerts, I pray for all of you to have a safe and uneventful spring. Yikes! I hope you can get the kittens out of the attic safely without incident.

The weather was pretty bad last night here in S.A but this morning it was beautiful and sunny.

I guess you mean San Antonio? Glad you made it through unscathed. I guess the Tex-mex tornado was not too far south of you?

I loved the look of the emerald sky...that looked like peaked whipped icing before a storm struck.......had to dive in a storm drain that time....was in New Mexico (golf ball sized hail and tornadoes..)

when the sky turns green I hide my head! Hopefully in a storm shelter!
