Because of the Spirit, the life of a Christ-follower had a distinctness that distinguished them from their ungodly contemporaries who were oblivious of the things of God that unified the Christians in doctrine, behavior, and deeds.] One of these characteristics would have been obedience to the Bishops of the early Church. Since the Bishop of Antioch was a Catholic and taught strictly Catholic doctrine it I severely doubt that men like Jeremiah would have been accepted by these early Bishops. Considering you cast off the yoke of Bishop authority in favor of his own. Religious authorities only matter to you when you agree with what they say. However if they disagree with your spirit led interpretation of the Bible then all of a sudden they become heretics and not yourself Jeremiah. Interesting. In the first century the doctrine was "universal" because everybody who was somebody in Christ all believed the same thing. So yes, with this understanding Ignatius was "catholic," or among the first-love "universalists" who believed the doctrines of Christ before heresy sullied the purity of the minds of believers. But "catholic" became a religion of the Roman pontiff and in time took on a whole new meaning. Meaning, a member of the Roman church at Rome. But you see, there is something you fail to understand...there is no central government in the true Church of God. And if there was (and when Messiah comes there will be), the capital of God's government with Messiah sitting on the throne of David will be located in Jerusalem, not Rome. Those who await the Anti-Christ will look to Rome. Those who are true "catholics" (universalists believing the doctrines of Christ) will look to Jerusalem, specifically the Mount of Olives, not Rome. Acts 1:11..."Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." In like manner. This means He (Jesus Christ) ascended from Mount Olives and will return to Mount Olives. Zechariah 14 : 4..."And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west..." Rome knows that where they are as for location is NOT where the Scripture says the government will be located...the TRUE government of God, and will make a move through deception and force to take over Israel and Jerusalem in order to validate their false religion because how can one have a religion outside of the place from which it was born? When Rome, along with the nations that OPPOSE God make attempt to seize Jerusalem and sit in the temple mercy-seat and the throne of David (Church and State), then Jesus Christ will return to protect His throne for no pretender to the throne will EVER sit upon that which God has ordained rightfully belongs to His Son. So what your trying to say is that The Bishop of Antioch was wrong for supporting Catholic doctrines??? LOL....OOOOK Uncle Jay if you say so!!!! *rolls his eyes* The Roman church teaches heresy on at least two major doctrines: The Doctrine of Salvation and the Doctrine of Church Government. The error was like a snowball through the years. But when the bishop of Rome said that he steps into the feet of Peter was the sign of highest heresy. It's one thing to say you step into "the shoes" of another, but entirely completely different and a case of mistaken identity and teaches re-incarnation to step into the actual "feet" of someone. Those feet belong to my brother, Peter. There's only ONE of him. ca. A.D. 590 The Roman church took on its highest heresy and official abomination around that year. Correction: Catholic means "ordinary" saying it not a sectarian church. "Apostles' Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen." As usual the Truth is bend by Jeremiah saying Jesus is a Prophet. Muslims says the same. Jesus is the Son of God. Nothing less.
