"Real" Christians...

Lately I have heard the term "Real" Christians a lot. Now I know there will be a time when God will separate the goats from the sheep and there will be many who will claim Him but yet He will reply that He doesn't know them. However, I wonder what are the qualifications of being a "Real" Christian.

To me, it's not about religion but having a relationship with Christ because as humans, we certainly are not perfect. I definitely am not by any way, shape or means. I screw up all the time. The difference is that I have to hit my knees and talk to my Daddy about it and we work it out. I end up repenting while He shows me His mercy and love.

Look at David for example... He is one everyone remembers as the guy who had a heart after God's own heart. But the dude did some pretty nasty stuff. He went after some other guy's wife and then when she got pregnant, he tried to set the guy up as the father. When that didn't work, he put the guy in harm's way so he'd be out of the picture. Yet, David cried out to God. Yes there was a price to pay for his sin but David passionately cried out to God in repentence and God forgave him and cleaned him up again.

Paul was another one. He prosecuted Jesus' followers. Yet Jesus came to Paul and asked him why? Jesus changed Paul's life and a relationship began between the two. Paui admits to still messing up from time to time but there was a difference because he had a relationship with Jesus.

I don't relate to all the "good" people in the Bible. I relate to the ones who were not so good. Those people like Rahab who's life was changed completely by God's love. People like Samaritan woman by the well who couldn't contain herself from telling everyone she knew about Jesus.

The pharissees once asked "Who is this man who dines with tax collectors and harlots?"

Thankfully for me, it was Jesus. Of course if Jesus had just hung around with Christians, there wouldn't be any!

I still think there are good sheep and there are bad sheep but it is sufficient to be a sheep rather than a goat whether it is a good goat or not

When a sheep goes astray, it can be rounded up and it will return to the fold. Not sure what goats do... don't they eat tin cans? I am sooooo not a 4-H kinda girl. I don't even own a pet! LOL
