Confessions of a Dollar Store Junkie I am not one to shop like some women. I do not possess a closet full of shoes. I do not go to the mall unless forced! But I do enjoy a good dollar store now and then. Saturday, I decided to stop at the 99 Cent Only store and I blew a quick $20. I was amazed that I could get 1/2 gallons of Breyer's Loaded Chocolate Chip Mint with Brownie Pieces ice cream for just a buck! I bought two since my is addicted to ice cream. He normally suffers through with the plain jane no-name brand that comes in the big container with a handle. I also bought some little plastic crates that are perfect for holding CDs and DVDs. Now I wish I had purchased more of those. In addition, I bought some fancy crackers and punch mix. Plus I was able to get not just plain fig newtons but the strawberry ones and the blueberry ones! Yummmmmmmm! I haven't had fig newtons in eons! Dollar stores are also a great place to get cleaning supplies. It doesn't matter to me if the label is in Spanish; I still recognize Mr. Clean when I see his sparkling bald head! I probably bought more things than I need but it sure was fun combing the aisles. I still can't beleive I got such a deal on that ice cream! God must have been looking down on me for that one!! I am so very blessed!

Ah, ya brought Maestro Limpio to your house, huh? I was thinking about him on the way to church this a.m. for some reason.Kinda miss him... Don't see him up here in Canada. We have French on our labels if anything. But kudos on the ice cream!!!

Getting Bryers Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream for $1 is really a bargain! I have never seen it that cheap! That is the only way I like to shop is to shop for bargains. Other than bargain hunting, I hate to shop! May God Bless You in ABUNDANCE

My bud Roberta who I met through BC told me she got some wonderful back to school deals at Ross for her kiddos. They just opened a Ross down the street from me. I haven't been there yet. When I run out of clothes and shoes, I will probably check it out.

I'm with you girlfriend! But it's hard for me to pass up a garage sale or second hand store. That's my kind of shopping! Malls? I hate them. I tend to go into a store, get what I need and I'm outta' there. Except like I said second hand stores, I can spend hours in one of them.  Lord, keep one hand on my shoulder and one hand over my mouth!

No Mr. Clean in Canada??? Oh my! Do you have Dudley Do-Clean instead? I remember when I visited Canada and all the bilingual labels in both English and French! One side English; One side French.  For some reason, his spanish name always amused me! (my mind always thought Mr. Limp  )

Love the crate idea. The dollar store by me closed after a murder. But, the one downtown is still open, I just always forget about it now. I miss the one by me.  I blogged about the murder, the first one in like 20 or 25 years for my little city. I grew up in the big city, so it took me awhile to figure out why everyone talked about it for sooo long. Then, my boss enlightened me about the 20 or so years.

Dollar Tree rocks!! That is the best place to get little gifts for teachers of all kinds especially when you have to buy a bunch of them. We have Dollar General here too but not everything is just a buck. Some of their stuff is higher priced but you can still find good deals on things there including young men's jeans!
