Palin Power!

Just watched the Speech by Sarah Palin at the RNC. I feel sorry for Joe Biden (OK not really)
when he has to take her on in the VP debate.
Whatever the outcome, it is obvious that he will meet a confident, poised, intelligent, and knowedgeable opponent.

Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air, as Fred Thompson put it last night.
If you are a committed Obama supporter, be afraid, be very afraid.

We are what we believe we are.

Watched the CNN coverage of the convention last night...I, too, was blown away by Palin!! She is no weak or inexperienced woman as some have tried to portray her. I am so thrilled to be able to confidently vote for two great people this year! Finally a leadership team to not only tolerate but to truly trust.

And so it's "pro-family" that a Mom of 5 with a baby with Downs is never going to be home at all but working and traveling over the world? I suppose. I don't know if that's the best example. As someone raised by a professional, very hard-working woman, I know it was the moments when she was home that forged our relationship. Not her time away.

I am no Obama supporter, but I fear that so much of this is theater. And I still have yet to hear make any statement of her faith. Being pro-life (which I am) doesn't make you saved!

I know Palin has given the McCain campaign an excellent boost. I know that from a political and strategic standpoint, it's great. I am just looking at it from a Christian perspective.

The Naval Observatory, which is the residence of the Vice President is a ten minute ride from the White House. Sure the VP travels, but why would it be worse that the parent who is gone is the woman?
Most of the children are older and will no doubt assist their poor father who will be forced into the primary care role.
I find it odd that you would slight a man you don't know at all this way.

This is not an issue anyone would raise seriously if she were a man.
So your inherant sexism is showing. Gee, what a horrible example to be the first female Vice President!

Of course most of this is theatre! But you don't seem to understand the purpose of theatre in this context. Politicians portray an image
to the public and hopefully the image matches the reality.
The liberal media has sought to define who these people are with the
intent of influencing the outcome. A strong counter message, closer to who John McCain and Sarah Palin really are is necessary.
I would advise anyone to pray that the truth about all these people be revealed and that distortions and lies would fall away.
I'm sure we can agree on that.

Really?? So you have a problem with Michael Vick torturing pit bulls but you're okay with the fact that Palin hunts wolves with a shotgun in her helicopter?? Interesting....

That was a low blow, unworthy of you brother.

I mentioned MomtoBeagles and Michael Vick because she and I actually previously DISCUSSED VICK in a blog she started herself. In the blog, I said I think Michael Vick is a sicko. Yes, I am again training pit bulls to attack each other and wanton violence against animals. I also think it's a little messed up to take pot shots at a wolf from a helicopter (whether you own the chopper or not). It's not for food, it's for fun. And Palin pushed to have this type of hunting encouraged throughout Alaska.

As such, I was asking the question from a fair perspective and not using anything against anyone. I am not "targeting" anybody. I apologize if I so offended folk with a question that is relatively innocuous.

Not all hunting is for sport or food. Hunting wolves from helicopter
is neither. It is sometimes difficult for city folk to grasp that
some hunting is done simply to remove dangerous animals that are preying on cattle or endangering people. The fact it is done from a helicopter may not seem "sporting" to our minds, but neither is using
poison to kill gophers or insecticide to control roaches or ants.
The helicopters are used to make the removal of dangerous animals more effecient, a much more important consideration than our disney shaped sensibilities.
