Finding the lost sheep

I was alone and I desperately needed to be around people so I went to the local bar that had dancing with a live band. I met people, I drank, and I always left feeling good. I would always stop at the local all night open restaurant.I would drink some coffee and then go home to bed. As time went on I got pretty used to the waitress that worked there. One night this nice waitress invited me to a in home bible study. My first question was what bible do you use. She said the King James Version. I said thats good I have no problem with that. So Monday evening came and I went to this in home bible study. It ended up being a segment of what they called the Power for abundant living class. They said believing equals receiving. They said God's promises are for you the believer and you can claim them anytime. The session was over and all what I knew up to that point was you basicly had to earn your way to heaven. The next morning when I woke up I realized for the first time that I had the opportunity to be righteous in Christ and that I didn't have to wait till the end of time to receive His blessings. My life changed from that time on. I no longer was hanging out in the bars and I was starving for Jesus.
I met my ex-wife there .She was putting God ahead of everything in her life and God blessed us richly for the next 18 years. After that new things crept in between our relationship. What happened??
Personal needs took preferance over Gods will.
I'm sharing this because it a is a very small portion of my life where you can see how God worked in my life.Even though I may not be there for Him ,, He is still there leading me. What a great God we serve.
I would love to read others testimonies on how God worked in their life's.

Hmmmm, very interesting post!!! Quite thought provoking. I'd like to review my life for an instance to share, however, immediately, what I can say is this......I don't know of any time when God isn't working in my life. I've always known Him!!! I know that before I or my siblings were born my mother prayed (actually before, during and to this day she prays) that her children will always know Him!! I'm guessing her prayers have been answered!! So having said that, for me, to pick an instance out of common occurrences......hmmmmmm, it makes me think!!

I guess every day is a testimony for me, coz every day He does something, or teaches me something and makes me love Him even more! You know, reading your testimony.....we come face to face with God in the darndest places don't we! How cool is that.....He comes to us!
