~The movie about the life of C.S. Lewis~

Last night TBN aired a movie about the life of C.S. Lewis....oh it was very good.

He talked (first person) in the movie about his start in becoming a Christian (he was an athiest, I sure have met a lot of athiests from the UK)....his start in writing and the writing club he was in with his dear friend J.R. Tolklien......(i double if I spelled that right)...

What touched me the most about this movie was his marriage.....

One day a woman wrote to him from the USA and she told him how she became a believer as a result of reading his writings.....and could she come to visit? Well, her and the came to visit him and to make a long story short, they ended up getting married.

At first, this marriage was strictly a marriage of convienence, you see, she didn't have the money to get back to America and her visa was about to expire, so they just got married.

Then, she started getting ill...found out she had cancer (I think) and was having difficulties walking. Well, Mr. Lewis, upon seeing her in the hospital in bed, decided now was the time to tell her how he really felt about her.....(I forgot the words he used....to expound on this)....she was laying there and he told her that he truly did love her and then he asked her if he could give her a kiss (thier first kiss).....

After that, he had a priest come in to pray for her, this priest said he had the gift of healing...also, they got married again, this time it was more genuine and there was even a ring exchange when there was no ring before. They both decided that they really truly loved each other...

Shortly after that, she got well enough to leave the hospital.....Hallelujah.

But then the story changes and he said he started getting sick....bone loss or something, I can't remember. I'm not sure what else happened because the phone rang, but this was a very touching movie.

When he was writing the Narnia movie, some he knew (relatives I believe) came to live with he and Tolklin at the house....thus, he had begun to write them stories to give them something to do as they were always running around the house making all sorts of noise......the Narnia stories had that purpose.....to keep those busy......that was the origional purpose .....I am thinking perhaps the 's names were Edward, etc, just like the ones in the books.

Well, there you go, some more tidbits about something or other......related to artistic endeavors......

I will tell you when my screenplay gets produced.....

I have the movie Shadowlands but can't bring myself to watch it yet. I've been told you'd need a box of tissues beside you.
